@Lookinkool1! - Yes. I'm a first timer too, staying at Terra Linda from March 29 - April 2. Maybe we can connect?

Enjoy all the hoes in that town guys.
These hoes are not the ones that you are used to seeing in your projects or hoods.
BTW, they don't accept WIC or any food stamps.
Enjoy it.

They will barter for fresh fowl and parrot fish though.  Don't get discouraged.  Many australopithecenes left in Sosua even after the crackdown.

You can upload Oanda currency converter (free) it gives the USA / DR rate on a daily basis. Never exchange your money at the airport.  The main club is Classico (upstairs a $5 dollar cover charge) or if you want to chill the Marenge Lounge / bar  (free / downstairs). The after hours spot is After One/or the Casino. They normally close around 5-6 am. They typical dress is shorts, shirts and sneakers. When going out at night only bring enough pesos that you intend to spend or a little over. While in the crowded club don't flash and keep your money in a secured pocket. Your real name, city, when you arrived or when your leaving, or this being your first time in Sosua is ALWAYS on a needs to know basis. Chica proof your room before and after you let a girl enter your space and before they leave. 99% of the chicas are mad cool, but 99% of them will walk away with your shit if you tempt them. If you don't speak spanish, make certain your understanding (what you expect and for how much) is understood. They have little hustlers (they will spot you before you spot them) who will interpret for you and than cling to you like velcro. For a first timer, its cool to have one of these cats look out for you (it will cost you a few pesos / propina/tips) but they will look out for you if you gas them up like they are your homie. Bring lots of jimmy hats and have fun. Just a few tips ......

One of the best ways to chica proof your room is to lie...

normally a chica will ask "how long will you be here"?    I would tell her a date that is 1 week later than when you actually leave.  The chicas will target guys that are leaving tomorrow or within a few days.  They will take you shit and then head out of town for a few days and then come back once they know you are long gone.....

Good point, i never told them when I'm leaving because they try to milk you for as long as they can, but thats a good point that i never thought of before.
