This is pure propaganda. Worthy of our president. I swear some of the biggest racists I know are black folks. I’ve lived in Los Angeles for 40 years. The city is one of the most diverse in the US. The shitty jobs immigrants are taking can be had by any brother without a felony prison record. Our problem is institutional racism and the attitude that arrises from being persecuted by the system with almost every step we take. Our problem has nothing to do with open borders. I’m certainly not surprised nonetheless it’s shameful for black folks to blame our problems on immigrants from south of the border. By the way children of immigrants who were born in this country are Americans. Unlike the DR we have birth right citizenship like it or not. Remember most of the folks here illegally flew in on a plane.

Shit does America treat us any better ?

America has it racial fault lines.  However, it isn't ripping citizenship from American-born blacks.   Now, if the justice system can get fixed, it will be on the right track.
Think Black americans are getting screwed with the wide open borders in the US and All the illegals getting all food stamps ,hands outs takeing jobs   BTW iim and old white white guy,

Of course black Americans are getting screwed by open borders, because many black Americans work either low-skilled or blue collar jobs.   Illegal immigrants tend to gravitate to "urban centers," where so-called urban people (i.e., connotation: black people) live.

The damage is especially insidious when you take into account inter-generational displacement of black folks in the work force, because the offspring of illegal immigrants are U.S. citizens who haven't really bought into the "concept" of America, and still have some allegiance to the country of their ethnicity.  Case in point, when I was kid in the 80s, I remember working on construction sites during the summer.  In 2019, you would be hard-pressed to find an young black kid working on a construction site.   Those jobs are occupied by the children of illegal immigrants who received Amnesty in 1986.

By the way, black folks aren't the predominant recipients of welfare.  I know some will argue in percentages to support that assertion.

Jazzy2002, you misinterpreted what I said.   That's okay.  My typing and brain tend to be out of sync.  So, let me be more clear in my position.  I am not blaming black folks problems on any group.   Tugboat asked if open borders are affecting black people.  My answer is yes.  My point is based solely on economics.  Please stay with me.  Illegal immigrants puts a strain on the local job market, because they drive down wages by increasing the supply side of the job market.  That's Economics 101, not racism.

As immigrants (illegal and legal) continue to enter the country, it has an adverse affect on black workers in the low-skilled and blue collar trades.   The following Chicago Tribune article supports my position.  Again, it's an economic issue, not racism.

https://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-discrimination-temporary-staffing-1207-biz-20161206-story.html

You say blacks are some of the biggest racists.   You are entitled to your opinion, and will not even argue that point.  I, too, lived in Los Angeles in the 1990s (played football for L.A. Harbor College, in Wilmington) and I can tell you black and brown racism cuts both ways.   I lived in Lakewood, CA in 1993, and the adjacent city of Hawaiian Gardens had a serious problem with immigrants, probably illegals, running black residents out of the city.  One black woman's home was firebombed.   Hawaiian Gardens wasn't the only city in the Southland where blacks were the target of hate crimes, in the 1990s.

Speaking of the Hawaiian Gardens hate crimes against black folks, I am surprised I was able to find the article from back in 1993:

https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1993-03-13-me-10432-story.html

Can black folks avoid being displaced in low-skilled jobs?  Absolutely. I myself went to school to study engineering, then later switched to IT.   I don't have a problem with being displaced by illegal immigrants.  My challenge is to avoid being displaced in the job market by legal immigrants who overstay their visa or having my job outsourced to India.

Obviously, we disagree on this point and you believe I am a racist for making an argument rooted in economics, which is cool.  We will just need to respectfully disagree.

I agree with PapiViejo55-2, the mod should just shut this thread down.   Further, we should just stay away from political, religious, and, obviously, economic discussions in order to keep the peace.

Actually According to Andrew Yang it's Technology NOT immigrants that are taking jobs. News medias are lying bro. As a person who works in I.T Myself some of you are going to be fucked in the next 10 years when your job gets automated away. You think I'm bullshitting? Look up Andrew Yang. Then do some google research Automation and some of the job it's displacing. They are just using Immigrants as a smoke screen.

Well, it would have been nice if were more clear and cited the one paragraph that you took umbrage with, instead of citing in my entire post.  I would have been able to focus on what exactly was offensive.

Did you read the Chicago Tribune article?  Let me tie the article to the paragraph in question:

"The damage is especially insidious when you take into account inter-generational displacement of black folks in the work force, because the offspring of illegal immigrants are U.S. citizens who haven't really bought into the "concept" of America, and still have some allegiance to the country of their ethnicity."

One of the attributes of the concept of America is meritocracy and fair competition.   The Chicago Tribune article (and other reports) specifically cites that Hispanic temp workers were favored over black temp workers, and to further skew the playing field they added unnecessary requirements such as being bilingual. Since when do American manual labor jobs require workers to be bilingual.  Further, some of the staffers working at these temp firms are Hispanic and are PROBABLY first generation American.   How do the alleged tactics conform with fairness?  That's what I mean by not buying into the concept of America.

"Case in point, when I was kid in the 80s, I remember working on construction sites during the summer.  In 2019, you would be hard-pressed to find an young black kid working on a construction site."

The lawsuit cited in the Chicago Tribune is possibly indicative of a systemic problem and is possibly a reason why so few black Americans are on these construction sites compared to when I was on those sites, as a teenager, in the 1980s.

Those jobs are occupied by the children of illegal immigrants who received Amnesty in 1986.

My language was loose here.  I should have said the following:

Those jobs are possibly occupied by the children of illegal immigrants who received Amnesty in 1986.

I will give you the last word.  I don't want to continue going back and forth about minutia.

This has been going on for over 30 years in Cali....notably the LA area! Latinos been running blacks out of Compton and certain neighborhoods completely! By choice then force.....especially Latinos not born in US. It's just not nationally reported cuz it doesn't fit a certain narrative. While they fuck with innocent blacks they leave the white man alone..

It’s not nationally reported because it’s not true. LA has gotten expensive to live in. Many black folks have moved to the inland counties because rents are cheaper and there is less crime. Spanish immigrants have moved into to many historically poor black neighborhoods because compared to the rest of the city it’s relatively inexpensive and they’re willing to double or even triple up on occupancy. No one ran anyone out of Compton. The people who have left for the most part left voluntarily. I lived there in the 80s and I have friends that live there now. Trust me I know a little bit about Los Angeles. I’ve lived here since 1975.

As you heard Dominican republic just took majority of Haitian people living in d.r. and RIP their citizenship in d.r.. if you dont know history of 2 countries look it up. Cause Dominican definitely showed for very long time they dont like black people. And liking your money is different from liking particular race. I know you heard couple from queens NYC. From what Canada couple saying is that the locals was harassing them to very high degree after bartender working at resort took them out horse back riding. That how local knew who they was and what they had to offer. I know guys be like where can I go where it safe and sexy women for very good price for my American dollar I got 3 places.. hmu if you want know more.. free info brothers.. I dont care about what white ppl think, same functional racist be in America vote for trump and his dumb ideas will watch you die or some unarmed black get kill say nothing.SHOW POWER OF OUR MONEY. STAY WOKE!
Well please tell me where, I should be visiting?
