Hard Rock Cafe, a major all-inclusive in the DR, is the first resort to make major changes to in-room liquor dispensers after tourist deaths. This is a good move and will help restore confidence in the DR as a safe travel destination.

For now avoid all mini-bar consumption until things are under control. One theory is that the in-room dispensers AT SOME resorts may contain bootleg or tainted liquor. To put those rumors to rest ALL of the resorts must tighten standards. Kudos to the Hard Rock for being the first to step up.

I am a voracious reader, news junkie and learner of the Dominican Republic culture and lifestyle. My recommendations, posts and reviews are my own. No one in the D.R. has ever paid or comped me to do shit.
