Scariest day of my life. Just happened 11-6-18, 11 a.m. I'm the only customer in a pedicure/manicure shop across from Terra Linda. Just had my nails done and now the shopkeeper is about to start on my feet. I hear a screeching sound outside and jerk my head to the left to see what's going on.

Policia are piling out of the trucks with automatic weapons and they rush into the joint.

I'm like, "WTF!"

All kind of things are running through my mind. Did I get into it with a chica? No. Did I refuse to pay any chica? No. Did I encounter anyone under age? Hell no!

All the policia with the automatic weapons form a semi-circle behind me as they start asking the nail tech questions. At this point I am really feeling fucking uncomfortable because they are all speaking in rapid-fire Spanish and I don't have a clue to what they are saying.

Before this happened the nail tech and I had been having good conversation in English, and I kept looking at her for guidance on what was going on. She said nothing.

The policia kept talking to her and she started dialing someone on her cell phone. She would put the cell phone on speaker and keep doing my feet. Totally bizzare.

After 15 long, agonizing minutes, she finished my feet and I stood up to pay her and put my shoes back on.

Once I had my shoes on I had to walk past all the dudes with the machine guns.

I said a silent prayer and hoped they would not ask me shit.

Once outside I made a right turn and headed back to Hotel Europa free, but still shaken.

Should never be scared. I would say what I always say, but you older cats will not do it.  At least try to meet some.  They know who I am and we always talk.

Not sure what was going on with the policia today. I also saw them stopping people on motoconchos in front of Sousa Lights. They even confiscated a few of the bikes. One chica who lost her bike pitched a loud, 10-15 minute rant before stalking off.

@FuenteFuente I know the feeling, when they raided BlueIce this pass July I was there. The national police pulled up in a truck and came in like they were looking for Pablo Escobar on Narcos.

I was looking online and I saw nothing about this. I checked all the newspapers and television websites and saw nothing there either. I called Tera Linda and a good friend of mine there said they were baking pizzas like usual. I checked the Embassy website and there were no new travel alerts. Tomorrow I’m going to call the Embassy and see if they heard anything. I’ll report back tomorrow after I call the Embassy.

LOL, @Rook. No worries. The thing that scared me the most were (obviously) the guys with the machine guns behind me. Two other policia were blocking the entrance. All this activity in a place no bigger than a one bedroom apartment. Totally nuts.
