Frequent delinquent actions keep the inhabitants in distress in different neighborhoods of the tourist town of Sosúa.

PUERTO PLATA.-  Frequent criminal actions keep residents in different neighborhoods of the tourist municipality of Sosúa in the eastern part of this province.

According to the complaints received, antisocials have been panicking in the Sosuean population for months, due to the large number of robberies to residences and armed robberies that have been registered.

The communicator Wellington De Jesús Martínez, reported that among the most frequent criminal cases is the assault at home perpetrated by criminals in a home of the Puerto Chiquito residential in Sosúa.

The vandalism occurred when several unscrupulous men entered the residence of a man only identified as Miguel who in the company of his wife was gagged by criminals who loaded with two shotguns, a vehicle and other valuables.

Also, the road section of El Pomo, about 5 women have been docked at night by malandrines who stalk the ladies when they go to their homes after leaving their respective jobs, which has increased the fear of citizenship by the boom of crime.

In this regard, several people who complained about it, asked for a more notorious and efficient police surveillance, because several motorcycles have been stolen and armed robberies continue to occur, events that have robbed the inhabitants of that tranquility. tourist town

We should know next month if this was simply a Christmas uptake or a consequence of folks being jobless because of the venue closings.

You dont hear about it alot in the SU, but chicas are constantly getting robbed in puerta plata leaving the bank or going to and from work. Their uniforms and work clothes sometimes makes them targets from the assholes on bikes.

About getting robbed leaving the bank, it's very common. It happens a lot/daily in Haiti to the point ppl are scared of taking out money from their acct.

The bank tellers actually have gang members / cyclists waiting outside, and once someone make a decent cash withdrawal, the teller would text the dude outside with the person's description to follow them and rob them. They give the intel in exchange for a cut of the stake. Even the bank tellers are in it.

Shit is crazy in that island. We dont hear much about those bc tourists dont have bank accounts there and doesnt apply to us.

Just remember before you could not have robberies because Pedro you were in a well lighted trafficked area.  Robbery is about opportunity you to cheap to take a taxi or motorchonco and you walking on that dark street you could get targeted.  It will be a two man motorchoncho team with no lights coming either direction right on you. Them dudes have low impulse controls so do not resist as it compares to the old New York when you got shot even if you gave it up. Bottom line do not be cheap.  Remember tourists get killed all the time in the DR.

This just isn’t true, no matter how much you want it to be to further your scaremongering narrative about how scary it is “off the block.”

You are more likely to be murdered in the US than as a tourist in the DR, according to statistics.

Robbery is very much a problem though.

No not scsring anyone I just said do not walk on the dark streets at night - simple advice.  I just know do not walk on those streets in the dark.  Somebody that is trying to save money will do it and it will be a problem.  Also, I have seen a number of two man team robberies take place in the DR. An Italian tourist was killed not to long ago on the malecon in pop when he resisted giving up his chain.  Most people do not read the news in the DR on a  daily basis here.  The article that I have put up shows what is happening right now in sosua.  Did you know about the robberies in sosua taking place before i put up.   @ Jazzy knows that this time of year there is a spike in robberies during the holiday period of time throughout the DR.  You give advice and it's on people to take what they feel is relevant.  I run the streets of the DR late into the night always so I am not the right example for using caution, I just give you what I see. I just know them street dudes they could not get at you before on well lighted Pedro, but on those dark streets at night they can and they are opportunistic if given the chance.

I just know this board.  There are dudes who are from the street here who feel that they not giving up there hard earned money and will want to bang and are stubborn and I know them dudes that have low value on life.  Read the stories there people get killed over 500 pesos.  Take the ride not worth it.

Thanks for posting the link. Because of the link from a credible source, I take it as seriously as similar crime in Miami, South Beach or Atlanta.

It is also important to note that news article states that those at risks are chicas and residents -- not mongers.

So far, at least according to this story, there are no reports of mongers or sex tourists being affected -- or any reasons for mongers to be concerned about walking around the strip at night as you suggest in your post.

Exactly the logic of why people get robbed.  You said that since the increase robberies have not affected any tourists your okay.  Did I not say previously on the strip you were safe, but now if you walk outside of the strip on those dark blocks toward Amhvee you could have a problem.  Now, how do you twist it you say you should be safe on the strip since no tourist have been robbed - where did I say anywhere about being safe on the strip. You can play word games, but I know what I wrote.  Walk on those dark streets toward Amhvee you could have a problem which is very different then being on the strip.. keep talking about the strip. I am talking about walking on those dark streets outside the strip leaving or going around Ahmvee. Claro?

When I sent the article you should have taken the L right there, but pride is a motherfucker so you give this long winded answer which has nothing to do with what I originally  said.  I take L's no problem.  I never let pride control me.
