Mandatory testing.
« on: July 27, 2020, 05:33:41 PM »
Starting today, show up with recent test results, or expect a delay at the airport while they do a blood test...

I don’t even know about rapid blood tests. There are no blood tests that I have heard of that are used as a diagnostic tool. The blood test is used to see if you have antibodies which would suggest you have had it.

So, like so many other things about this crazy virus and how some countries are dealing with it... Makes no sense.

I assume for those who will be quarantined, it won't be without a cost. This could cause huge delays.

Be prepared to add the cost of testing to your travel expenses. The rapid test here in LA can be had for $125. I’m not about to leave my fate up to a test performed by Dominican authorities. Additionally the rapid test requires about 20 minutes. I’m thinking the wait time will be quite extensive.

But there is no rapid blood diagnostic  test!

It’s all very strange. Be curious to hear about people’s arrival experience this week!

The announcement noted the possibility of quarantine, but no length of time was given. The CDC now says 10 days from date of testing if no fever for 24 hours. None the less be it 10 or 14 days that’s way too much time for someone who is there only on a limited vacation.

What a joke I just bought a ticket a few hours ago for the 12th. They don’t even offer rapid testing in Baltimore or Washington DC this about to be such a headache!

This shitz hilarious man, who wants to go through all this bullshit? Blood test, curfews, hot spots closing early or shut down altogether and the number one thing folks sleeping on and ignoring the most, the Rona. Y'all enjoy yourselves but fuck that!

I see in the news release no mention of “blood” test. DR1 must have made that part up. Still... You need a machine and a lab setting to do a swab test. It’s a big undertaking, and will take some time if a plane shows up and no one was expecting it.

Make sure you get a test before you go!

The PCR test that detects a current infection is a mucous test not a blood test.
