I stayed there when they first opened. I'll be back in a couple of days. I fuck with Ahnvee because it's a nice clean property with modern up to date rooms. It's also the best deal for the money in Sosua. $180 and that's my room, food, and drinks for the entire trip. Normally that would not entice me but when you consider that I can eat at all other restaurants I would eat at anyways, it's worth it. Also, I know if you got Kenny or Milka's contact you can hit them directly and they will give u a discount. When I was there Milka was basically saying that they give the Expedia rate without the taxes if you book through the hotel directly. Not sure if that's still the case but it was in Feb.

Nah...you not on my bad side. I just think it was crazy for someone to drop 5 or 6 million USD on an all-inclusive resort in the back corner of a hooker-town where visitors are trying to squeeze and save 500 pesos from whores....that's all. Good luck is all I'll say. I'm sure it's nice...and I'm sure in 2-3 years, I'll be driving by in my golf-cart wondering what the fuck those idiots were thinking.....lol
Quote above Luvinhoes

I do agree that any investment in Sosua is damn risky.  The whole towns economy is dependent on prostitution.  The elected officials know this and make periodic attempts to change its culture and make it a family oriented vacation spot that the whole country can be proud of.  They have failed repeatedly, this last time due to the weather.  They had to spend a bunch of public funds in order to keep the town afloat.  Subsequently, they needed that that tainted dough to keep them solvent.  Then comes the Super Bowl and everything is back to normal, and the cycle repeats its self.

The guy that invested in Ahnvee is the same guy that started at VH whey Sosua Bay went under  make his dough, invested in bourbon street, make some more dough, and now he is opening this new joint, Ahnvee.  All three investments involved taking over failed  business ventures.  All three have been down in high class style.  I think this Brother is on to something, now will it or can survive the test of time, who knows.  But a good businessman sells and gets out while the business is making money, albeit New Garden.

Make I hate spell check

Sorry guys I reserved my room thru Expedia at 153 there are no discounts with tax that's 180 a day.  The pool room is 186 plus tax 220 again no discounts I check all of the search engines, the price is the same.  You don't have to pay until you arrive on most of the sites and as I haven't paid yet those discounts mention above do intrigue me, however no go it is what it is.  I see the pool room comes pretty bare.  I am going to tour the rooms before I commit I need my tha bedroom and pool.  Living room, bedroom,  bar corner with a executive donning area appeals to me more than the pool room at this point.

@danceelite

You hit it right on the head for me. The game is completely changing in sosua. The whole New Garden crowd is about to be run out of Sosua. They know that they can't stop us from coming but they are going to for sure change the look and feel of the places we frequent. Pica Flor is thriving because it is out of sight. The new place High Caribbean will thrive because it is out of sight, I'll bet anything you want that the minute High Caribbean opens, classico will be closed within 3 months. They are going to dictate how we fit in. The dudes at Ahnvee built a place that will fit into the new sosua. The wild out in the open partying is coming to a end. More discreet mongering will be the norm. Fellas, we need to learn to blend into what they are doing. Rumba, Passions, CMP, were easy to close because they Only catered to mongers. Behind closed doors it has been said, if you cater to mongers only they will close you if you are in the middle of town. Somebody said it in a earlier post. If Ahnvee keeps the rooms around the $200 range for double occupancy and allow you to bring in guest they will stay full. My only concern is that they raise the price. One of my regulars actually works for the government in the capital. Her family has a little money but are not Rich by any means. They came to Sosua for Semana and stayed at Ahnvee. Absolutely loved the place and said they were skeptical at first because the place was too cheap. That fucked me up. Dominicans saying that $2200 per night is cheap. But when she broke it down that in DR for good all inclusives you pay much more in Punta Cana I understood her point.

You are absolutely right Ahnvee has done its market research.  You are not going to bring a blacknight 1500 peso street hoe into a joint you paid 200 bucks to stay in.  Regular Dominicans mixing with a monger who's hanging with a dime from Pica flor or elsewhere won't bat an eye.  The new Sosua will make the monger step up.  It will not happen overnight but it's coming.

@rookie..,
If u take the penthouse room they offering and attache it to a 4 to 5 starts resort in Punta Cana, they would go for over $800 a night rather than $260 anyday, but u have to put in prospective, the small property (lacks the feel of a true all inclusive resort) and the location as well, so I assume it is fair pricing what they asking, not cheap nor Expensive.

@ Dance    You should check Orbitz. I just priced pool room at Anvhee for May 5-8 with Travelbug 15% coupon comes out to $561. Have to remember all sites don't have same coupons. I have found Travelocity and orbitz are best for discount, If sign up for orbitz rewards get many back for future trips ( Orbitz bucks)

Sean your math is bad my brother may 5 - 8 is 3 days equal 540.00  with 32.00 orbitz bucks for future trips  I have both Expedia and Orbitz.  I stopped using orbitz when the let American Airlines go, but I still have their  membership.  They quote the price without taxes then add the tax when you book.  I don't have and I am not familiar with this coupon though .

Finally people are waking up out of their slumber. The DR has always only been a decade behind. So yes in the 90,s you could get by on 80's prices for hoes and things but now it's 2017, long gone is the time you impress a bitch with your technology from the "GoldenLand" long gone is the time you can impress a bitch with "hot water" or "hotel amenities" yes these bitches still want to make it to the states but it's because  they don't want to have to wait until the suckers come to their country.

They want to be able to be in the middle of "SimpTown" aka any city or town in America. Someone mentioned here something I tried explaining many times. People in the DR or poor because of wanting to live first world lifestyles so they are taxed.

For example paying for an all inclusive experience for their family is not a foreign things for REGULAR WORKING CLASS DOMINICANS.. so the price point that avhnee is at is well below the going market rate for regular Dominicans looking for luxury.

The idea that Dominicans are "poor and can't afford" is soooo 1995... YES they are like  adolescent children when it comes to the majority of them and how they spend their money and allocate their funds I.E. spending it on bullshit but don't get it twisted they can make money.

This brings it all back to my unclear point (sorry been smoking kush) The resort is a great value. For Dominicans! LET ALONE FORST WORLD TRAVELERS. I paid 220 for a damn Marriott residences and it was basic as hell. Your paying 130 per night for a regular room at the crown plaza in St dom. like I said before So as long as they keep the price around the 2-250 mark for DOUBLE  occupancy all inclusive they gonna stay booked

Too many woman, not enough days

@brookylandfinest  Call the front desk, the number is listed on the website, I did.  You won't find these discounts you guys are mentioning the rooms are 180, 220 and 250.  You a pool room or an upgrade on executive to deluxe for the 220 and the penthouse for 250.  All those prices are better the Punta Cana basic AI.
