What was some of your attire there?
Nightlife attire?
Day hunting attire?
Jewelry
Sneakers Nike’s or expensive joints
Gucci loafers or regular flip flops

Is it like South Beach with attire?

I would advise minimum.
Plain tees, flip flops, no jewelry

Your just painting a target on your back with the flashy stuff. Not only will you attract the wrong attention but more importantly you'll come off really cheap to the chicas when negotiating price. You want to tell girls x price is all you can afford. Though x price might not be believable if you're walking around like king James. And please don't say you got it like that you'll pay the chicas whatever, even if that's true that mentality screws it for the rest of us lol. Good luck on your hunting.

What's with flipflops? Plain Tees? You don't have to be basic to fit in or not paint a target on your back cos they know who's who. Put some loafers on and dress decently

I go down there for pussy and dressing nice does literally nothing for that. If you want to dress nice go for it. Just keep in mind chicas will assume you got it like that and probably charge you more than the next man is all I'm saying.

@ Yasky   You wear what makes you feel comfortable, but jewelry whether real or fake can make you a target for the hustlers. Remember many clubs do not have A/C but that said when a cat walks into a club with people dressed and he is wearing a wifebeater and slides he will standout. If bringing shorts , make sure they have a zipper or at least a button pocket.

Day time is vacay wear.

Night time I rarely wear shorts. (Used to being around locals and they rarely wear shorts)

But Wear whatever makes you comfortable.. The Gringo OUTFIT (Ball shorts, white tee and flip flops) goes down in Sosua..

But outside of sosua you wont be allowed in most places with shorts and flip flops
Flip Flop Sports Bar / Flip Flop Taco Shop / Flip Flop Beach Bar #38 and a Few Nice Boats..... Sosua, RD

The better you dress, the more the Chica will cost you.  Just simple.  Cheap shirt, shorts and flip flops,

I respectfully disagree, I'll pay what I deem fit. I don't dress to impress a chic neither will or has a chic looked at my dress and said 2000 ST

Wear what you would wear in the summer in your home town keeping in mind that it does get quite humid there. No need to dress up no need to dress down. I think folks feel more comfortable in the clothes they’re accustomed to wearing with the stipulation that I’d leave the more expensive examples of my style at home. I tend to bring my older things there and buy a new pair of comfortable shoes. I do not wear flip flops or sandals there because the sidewalks are not in the best condition and tend to be a bit treacherous when it rains. Dressing above typical “gringo wear”, as described by VP, probably won’t let you cheap out by trying to plead poverty, but it will attract a better quality of females. Anybody paying attention can see that Dominicans try to look good in their clothes. The other thing is that though they won’t exactly tell your typical gringo this Dominicanas expect grown men to dress like an adult who has a little change in his pocket.

You guys are silly!  You are not in Colombia where you have to be nicely dressed with jeans (no shorts).  In the DR you can be naked, hairy, fat, and weirdo you can still get a high class lady from Classicos any day of the week including Sundays!
