How does anyone handle this? Totally curious, where are you staying, what are you doing? Totally Curious. All situations are different I understand.

Never say you are staying in Sosua. I say were staying in Puerto Plata (me and my partners) in a villa in a gated community. Going to the beach, fishing cruise, etc, etc. You fill in the blanks.

If we’re talking about an American female I’ll simply say I visit the Dominican Republic. If she wants more specifics I’ll say Puerto Plata or Caberete. If we’re talking about a Dominicana I tell her the truth that I’ll be staying in Sosua. I’ve never had a chick say she wouldn’t come to Sosua. Those girls aren’t as innocent as some guys want to believe. If she’s talking to a gringo she knows what’s up. On the other hand I choose not to stay close to the strip in one of the monger hotels which eliminates a guest having to come in direct contact with hoes working the street. Remember it’s all about her making money. I’ve found that provided she doesn’t have to be immersed in the street scene most chicks have no objection to coming to Sosua. Of course some of this is predicated on whether or not she’s comfortable with who you are. Speaking a little Spanish and displaying an empathy for the culture really goes a long way in allowing a chick to give your trust.

Most rats won’t have a problem coming to the suit if you tell them. But any real woman With anything going for her at all won’t be caught dead in the soup. So you’re going to tell her you’re staying in Caberete . You can even tell her you’re staying in Puerto Plata But if she is a working woman and she is not looking for a handout and a puta  pretending to be a good girl. Then she won’t be caught dead in the Sue
Too many woman, not enough days

I think this is more the spirit of where I was going with this. What dobyou tell the person who may be dropping you to the airport. The person your saying see you when I get back.

You might wanna back up your itinerary by photos of normal stuff. For that, may I suggest doing the ATV rides, cable car to the statue of christ, 27 waterfalls of Damajagua, and puerto plata city tour. You will thank me later.

I routinely fly into STI... So I just say I'm going there for partying and to hang out with the homies..

Women know what the deal is... And so long as you  not rubbing it in their face and they are secure, you should have no problems.

This is facts! They ain’t stupid Nd rather you go bang out some poor DR chica then the bitch smiling at you at work or the liquor store! They know you ain’t stupid enough to fall for some chica overseas and not smart enough to be able to live double lives w/o getting caught! Just know it comes to an end when to start going 3 or 4 times a year for 5 years straight and she never been once! That’s the boat I’m in! All of a sudden.... when you taking me? 😳

Yeah I go to D.R multiple times a year and my wife doesn't ask me questions because even before we were married I traveled all over the world spontaneously and she knows it.  But... women are women so what I usually do is leave about $300-$500 on the dresser for her and say hey this is just in case of any emergencies while I'm out of town.

I think she honestly looks forward to me going to D.R now. lol
But this aint for everybody I can do it without loosing any sleep.

As the OP i have to say this is my scenario, but I am am an all about honest travel discussion that someone may need to hear. I have an excellent track record of solo travel and intend to keep it that way because it helps me keep my sanity. I have 19 days of solo sanctioned South American travel coming up also, but this is such an informative forum that I thought it was good to hear from the vets on this. So I posed the question.
Respectfully with $300 in an envelope.

Married guys traveling to the DR and lying to their wives about it does just as much harm as the guys posting videos. Those ladies are bitching to their friends, both online and face to face, about what they believe is going on there will just add fuel to the hate.

I bet we are not even in the same tax bracket.  There are certain things you couldn't even comprehend unless you live it.
For example my friend that told me about Sosua about 10 years ago owns seven McDonalds and his buddy that's now a business partner of mine owns several hotels.  All of us married and come and go as we please.  The wives are more than happy to live in a nice house and drive nice cars without paying any bills.  Raise our kids and take care of home.  Marriage is a business!  That's why you get a license and the same city seal on that marriage license is on all my business licenses. My Mrs. is happy with her lifestyle and little trinket money i give her before I go on my mongering trips. But hey it sometimes cost to be the boss.
