A lot can be learned from your first trip.

You dont need to be a 10 year "vet" to work things out

Exactly what I am saying. He acts like only vets have the right to post tips. Of course veterans tips are very high quality and filled with knowledge which I respect but anybody who has been to sosua can offer tips know matter how many times you been there. I also agree I think one does most of his reflection and learning on their first trip. Thats why I made an effort to post this before my memory got turned fuzzy to make sure I get everything I was reflecting on in my mind out there for the next newbie.

Whats up yall. I just came back from my first sosua trip it was a crazy experience! Here is a list of of helpful reminders to help you through your stay. This list may not be perfect so correct me if i'm wrong this is off the cuff.

1. Never exchange money at the airport
They will give you a bad rate. You don't really need pesos at the airport since the incoming fee is a standard $10 and cab is $25 just make sure you have that amount then exchange later (explained below)

2. You can negotiate cab prices from the airport
Standard fee is $25 to sosua but I was able to get it for $20 without too much effort

3. Don't let anyone handle your bags unless you are willing to pay
My travels to nigeria helped me here if anyone has ever been to lagos airport you know what I mean. People will try to help with your luggage left and right but they won't tell you they expect a propina (tip) for their services. Just say no gracias until they stop.

4. Best places to exchange your money is at banks and supermarkets exchange (super pola etc.)
They will exchange it evenly with no fee involved. There was a super pola across the street from me and the exchange place right next to it.

5.Try to get a decent amount of smaller bills
Change was a routine issue especially for motoconchos. You will pull out a bigger bill and ask for change but they will conveniently have no change. Sometimes its true but other times they just hope you give up and give them the bigger bill instead. When you exchange your money or whenever you get change always try to get a good amount of lower bills 50's and 100's. That way if you give someone a 1000 bill and they say they don't have change you are not stuck.

6. Motoconchos
Most convenient way to get around town and in my case was necessary. I stayed in tradewinds condos across the street from the newly built superpola supermarket it was necessary most days to get a motoconcho to get to the action ( somedays I walk). By frequenting the motoconchos I seen a price difference that they would try to charge. Just know that in the daytime 50-100 (mainly 50) pessos is enough to get you anywhere in sosua. If they charge you more don't fall for it. Ive been quoted  500 pesos for a 100 pesso trip but they know better and once your firm with them they will agree. If you ask them to drive you to multiple spots expect 50 pesos each trip or you can work out a deal before hand ("take me to these three places and back home for 125 pesos") they are willing to make deals with you. They will try to sell you things left and right if you don't want it just say "no gracias mi amigo" over and over. Finally, if you get a cool, reliable motoconcho take his number down and make him your regular you will save money. I met someone who took me to multiple spots and back home for 50 pesos id use him all the time. Just remember if they are going to fast say "tranquilo" means slow down and the ones riding the motorcycles are better because its a smoother ride.

7. Always be aware of what side the muffler is on the motoconcho
You might be in a rush and hop off and then burrrrrrrrrrn! second degree burn on your leg I learned the hard way lol just be aware

8. I found that day mongering is slightly cheaper than at night time ( even though the overall prices are cheap)
More girls are willing to go with you for 1500 pesos

9. If a chica comes to you with an extremely cheap price (below 1500) beware! You get what you payed for. I learned the hard way. Over...and over.......and over lol.

10. Standard rates are 1500-2500 pessos** for a short time. Out of all the girls ive been with I only paid 2500 once because I requested a crazy fetish lol. 2000 pessos is the magic number that 90% of the time they will be happy with but I had many 1500 pesso chicas. Just make sure she knows everything that you are into and what you expect of her.

11. Only give her a propina if she deserves it.
Don't get pressured into giving her one if she was a dud/had a bad attitude. Their is a whole town full of chicas waiting for you don't waste time or money with duds. On the flipside if she gave you an amazing service tip her (its customary but not mandatory).

12. Don't be afraid to search them if you suspect something is missing.
I was a lazy drunk motherfucker my whole trip so I would often forget to chica proof my room so I would always have my eye on her even if she was a sweetheart. I also checked every chicas belongings before they left my room. This can be avoided if you just chica proof your room.

13. If she trys to change the price on you DO NOT FALL FOR IT send her packing!

14. If a bad situation arises with you and the chica (she threatens you etc) let security know asap tell them to remember her face, make a copy of her id and don't let her back in know matter what.

15. Don't let people (mainly people who are trying to offer you things) know where you live ( exact hotel door). You might have them show up unannounced or even worse.

16. You don't chase pussy in sosua, the pussy chases you!
These girls especially low season know you are the prize. You will feel like shark bait in the middle of the ocean sometimes lol they will swarm you, molest you, sexually harass you to get your attention. Sometimes the funnest way to monger is to post up at the bar with a drink facing pedro clisante and just wait for them to come to you. Or just call them over to you remember you are the prize.

17. When you get her whatsapp try to take or get a pic from her
You will get tons of whattsapp numbers so when you get her number ask for/take a pic of her to remember who they are or your whats app will be flooded with random names you can't match to faces.

18. Only buy them a drink if you like their personality or if you can see yourself spending time with her
Don't just go buy random chicas drinks lol you will be broke in no time.

19. Classicos (and any club/bar in sosua) is like a candy store
Ratio is never below 10:1 I felt like I was the only guy there sometimes. The after hour spot called playa chiquita is a casino with a club attached to it and stays open until 6 am i believe. You will get your everything grabbed, licked, spanked and every girl in there is down for p4p its like a candy store. With that said you can be picky. If one chica is being stingy about the price or unwilling to do what you want her to do in bed (unless you really want her)then its on to the next one. Literally the second a chica gives you a reason to leave just do exactly that. I'm not saying to be a prick but don't waste your time when the ball is in your court.

20. On mondays when classicos is closed Id suggest city lights instead its lit in there

21. Save money eat like a dominican
There are plenty of clean dominican restaurants where you can eat from and save alot of money. Right next door to city lights is a restaurant I got rice and beans, platanos, plenty of chicken and a drink for 150 pesos there are many places like that.

22. If she does not have Id and she looks too young TURN AROUND MY FRIEND

23. In sosua people's time is money (doesn't apply to every one)
Many people in sosua would do things out of kind gesture and expect nothing but with some people in this city time is money know matter what you are doing with them. Many people will ask for a propina just from them performing the most mundane task for you (helping with directions, translating, helping you find something etc.). Before you ask anybody to do anything for you and if they look like they are a hustler just say before hand you don't have and money for them. Don't make it known in a group of dominicans that you need help looking for something around town if you don't want to get asked for money

24. When walking through the beach smile, say no gracias mi amigo, and keep walking.
The beach is filled with shops and people trying to get you to buy something just keep a decent stride waive your hand saying no and keep it moving and enjoy the beautiful waves.

25. If you need constant wifi and your phone doesnt take chip go to orange and get a wifi hotspot 5 g 1500 pesos and 1500 refundable deposit.

26. Dealing with burnout Try to do something other then fucking lol
If you get burnt out its nice to have something planned so you can have an activity to do in the meantime until you feel like fucking again. You can't fuck the whole city lol so try to diversify you vacation. By my sixth day and like 14teenth fuck I was worn out so I planned an atv ride throughout puerto plata its something different and it kept me busy until I was a horny ass monger again!

27. Try to live close by all the action especially if its your first time there
Even though most of you will already do this you will get a way better experience by getting a hotel in the middle of town as opposed to the outskirts. You will feel the full atmosphere and won't have to waste money on motoconchos all the time. I got my place on airbnb for 20 bucks a night but it was further away from the action then I would like. If I could do it all over I would probably stay at terra linda or new garden. Nothings better than hollering at a fine ass chica on the street from the comforts of your room and in 2 minutes she is in your bed. Id recommend where I stayed but I would rent out my own scooter/ atv.

Edit***
28. Feel the chica out and conversate for a little before you decide to take her home
VERY IMPORTANT. It will save you a headache/ wasted time/ money if you conversate with the chica to make sure you guys are on the same page. You don't have to talk for hours but just long enough to guage her personality. Many times you can spot a bad attitude, a girl who is unemotional/stiff, and the type that will try to rush if you conversate with them. If they give off a good vibe then go from there. If they give off a bad vibe then go with your instincts and don't waste your money. This way you can weed out the ones who will try to rush you, have a bad attitude, and overall will give you lackluster service. Its not full proof but many times it can weed out the bad apples from the quality chicas :)

I hope that helps you guys out once again this is straight from the cuff. I know I may have done things wrong so if yall vets want to chime in I don't mind constructive criticism just don't get disrespectful. Sosua is a great place with alot of fun to be had I can't wait till I go back again.

Where do you buy your hotspot from in DR?

your welcome just trying to help out anyway I can.

Guysnightlife

Lol the first two times I did it I waited for backlash but nothing ever happened and after that it became routine. The chicas took it very well even the ones that I had  bad experiences with. I would say to them "Before you leave I have to check your belongings, don't take it personal I do this to every girl that comes through my room because many chicas steal". None of them ever gave me an attitude. My repeats knew the deal before I even asked then and would open their purse up for me to check before I ever said anything.

I bought mine from a company called orange its in the center of town they had the best deal. There is also claro also located in the center of town and other locations too but they were more expensive. Claro has a chip option but my phone doesn't take chip so im not sure how much that would cost.

Hi Boston
Can you tell me more about that mobile hotspot? I plan to get one on my upcoming trip since I will need to be joinable 24/7 wherever I am for my job ... I plan on renting a car and moving a lot on the north coast.
Do you have to buy it actually or you can just rent it and bring it back at the end of your trip?
How much did it cost you for what amount of data? I don't need to stream videos or music but only be able to surf on the net, use google maps and make skype calls.
Since I plan to move a lot on the north coast, how's the coverage? did you really try it or you stayed only in sosua?
Thanks
