What's up fellas? I want to thank you in advance for any help you can provide, Every bit is greatly apprenticed.

I'm trying to head down there around March or April for a month or so, (I turn 40 in March... it's a life reset/ birthday present to myself.)

I've read this forum and did other research around the internet and I feel like I come across one conflicting view after another.

I'm not sure where to start....

Is it still a good place to visit? Can you find decent accommodations for a cheap price (long term 3-6 weeks)? Is safety much of an issue? (I'm born and raised in NYC, I was buying weed in the projects when I was 15... point being I'm not concerned if a place is a little "rough around the edges") But I'd rather not have to beat the shit out of someone every time I walked home, or get stabbed. Both are sure fire ways to ruin my day.

Are the girls always angle shooting and trying to get over? Have prices for girls remained reasonable?

Do the places I see on AirBnB live up to the pictures in real life? Are the police or government a concern? ( I saw the post about Americans getting caught up in some civil unrest between the logical's and the government)

That's probably enough questions to start with.

Thanks again for any help you can offer fellas.

Any recommendations of AirBnB type places to stay would be greatly appreciated too.

1. Safety not much of an issue. If you look for trouble you probably will find one.
2. Girls are just people. Some will make you feel like King and some like big wallet. If you know Spanish it will help but if you do not it's okay.
3. Place is outdated and dirty. Trash is everywhere.  But you will get clean bed and what else do you want.
I stayed at hotel Europa for $23 a day.

I went there recently for the first time and can not wait to go there again. (I am 43).

  • take this money!!!
if its your first time there and u concerned about safety i would first stay a couple of nights at a hotel like New Garden just to get a feel of things then move on to an AirBnB...

some chicas do try to get over, u just have to be firm on the price and whats expected....assume they will ask for 500 pesos more once u finish the session, factor that in to the price u agree on...

no there no issue with tourist and government, they just dont want u acting a fool

if u can handle a big city u can handle Sosua, watch your back like any big city....the police do a good job of being in the area....

chica proof your room,,,again ALWAYS chica proof your room

Ok rule of thumb if you can get pussy in NYC you can get pussy anywhere in the world!
1) common sense.... don't be an asshole and be smart! A Vic is Vic no matter where he's at! Late night stay in lighted populated areas .... daytime your cool

2) girls jus like anywhere else.... feel the vibe ! The aggressive ones tend to be the headaches

3) long term stay .... airbnb is the move but a week in  a hotel might help you get the feel of shit! Maybe link with someone who is a vet

4) common sense .... I can't stress it enough! It's your best friend there

Just a few tips for the newbie . The Seabreeze is just down the street from the Newgarden and is cheaper , no food there but you can eat at La conde restaraunt  at the corner , across the road from Bon Icecream , for lunch there is a side entrance at Baily's where the locals buy their lunch ( opposit side of the street from La Conde less than 25 yards ) price for lunch 150- 200 peso , I often take part of it home , get take out container at the cash. DO NOT CHANGE MONEY AT THE AIRPORT ! lots of places all over town much better rates , you have to check around . For ATM  the best fee rate is at the bank in the SUPER SUPER LIQUIRE store plaza , its at the end of a three or four store plaza on Pedro Clicante ( the main drag ) two or thee blocks east of DR. Rosen ( the other main street in Sosua ) . I never pay more than 1000 peso for a cab from the airport with one stop for beer rum and water ( the Mercado on DR. Rosen just past Rockie's ribs ) then down the street to Avende Martinez and the Seabreeze . If the price is right get some peso's at home , 4-5000 to make an easy transition .

Now for chica info NEVER GIVE THEM TRACEABLE INFO , NO LAST NAME , NO PHONE , NO EMAIL ,ETC. ONLY USE WATSAPP AND A DOMINICAN PHONE NUMBER ( Viva is cheap , DR. Rosen street and highway 5 in the trailer on Metro bus station lot , bring your passport ) Always use google translation app to negotiate what you are looking for and what you are willing to pay . Short time is about 1500 peso plus propina if you want extras ( propina is a tip ) Don't let them rush you , you are paying for the hour. ALWAYS CHICA PROOF YOUR ROOM , IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOOSE IT HIDE IT! If you find one you like and want to do toto la noche ( all night ) 3000 is the going rate. Prices may very depending on age and looks from a low of 1000 plus propina works as a starting point (over 40 , but good looking)
to a high of 3500-4000 for some princess!

ALWAYS CHECK A CHICAS CEDULA ( ID ) TO MAKE SURE SHE IS  OF AGE !!!!! And she must give her ID to the front desk or security .

DR is still a great place to visit. As far as where to stay, there's hostel type places, resort type places and everything in between. My recommendation for someone rolling dolo from state to state is to stay in one of the bro hotels (new garden, casa valeria, etc). The price is right, they are chica friendly, you can walk everywhere from there and they look out for their guests. Also because there are a ton of solo dolo dudes, you're bound to run in to some cool cats to chop it up with.

As far as as safety, city rules apply. Sosua is safe as any other city. Are there places that you probably don't want to go to, yes, are stick up kids trying to run up in your hotel room...hell no.

The girls are fun, dope and about their money. Even if they like you, they are about their money. Keep that in mind and you'll have a blast.

AirBNB spots tend to look like the pics and sometimes even better in real life. I had the chance to experience AirBnB, a booking.com villa, New Gardens, Casa Valeria and Ahnvee on my last trip. The AirBnB spot and villa were super dope.

I have no experience with the local government, but the police i encountered were cool. no static with foreigners.

You will have the time of your life. Also, take home about 5,000 pesos with you. That's right. Because you will be coming back! LOL. I always take home some pesos so that I will have some at the ready on my next trip.
Women need a reason to have sex. Men just need a place. Sosua will do just fine.

First off I want to thank you guys for all your advice, I appreciate you.

This response almost changed my mind about Sosua, which I just made up yesterday..almost. I've decided to look elsewhere, and have been aggressively. It's fucking dizzying.

I'm looking everywhere from Central America, to Cambodia, ( I was feeling Sihanoukville until I started reading that it's nothing but major hotels being built and constant construction now) to the Philippines, and of course Thailand....  and everywhere in between

Outside of the varying opinions I've read about Sosua lately the biggest factor in what I'm looking for is pace of life. I'm trying to get away for a month or longer, I'm not looking to take down 2-3 girls a day for 5  days

I don't want to be on that constant grind. I'm more of the mindset of having a few wifeys and laying low.

The best example would probably be that I'm looking at the east coast of CR, not the west. I'm all about the 4 W's.... Weed, Water, Wifey, Whatever.... No grind..... Happy go lucky.

I just want to get a private place near the beach, smoke, swim, maybe surf or other water sports, have laughs and good conversation at beach bar at 2pm on a Tuesday.... and a steady girl or two in rotation, with a little side action.

You fella's know any place that can meet that list?  .... and I'm price conscious for sure.

I've yet to find out if I can access my DFS accounts from out of the country, which would help to me keep  traveling.

Thanks again for all the help
