Pickpockets
« on: March 05, 2018, 08:09:27 PM »
I lost a "travel" wallet with about $30 and a driver's license on the recent trip to Sosua. It happened during one of those flash monsoons and a female bumped into me rather hard. She wasn't very sly about it, but I didn't think $30 and a $2 wallet were worth having to deal with the police for two days and offer everyone bribes.

Front pockets with cargo shorts always...  However, you made the right choice...

For sure, if your there on a busy nite, chicas will work as a team bump into you one grabing your Johnson ,the other one with quick hands in the pocket for your pesos, and any thing else they can grab,,,  Just bring enough cash, say for food or drink, don't carry passport or your license,, yes carry a photo copy,,   then they be grabbing at nothing lol

That is why I never EVER carry an ID or anything of valuable with me. There really is no need.
If a police ask you for ID -which is sooooooooooo rare- I tell them the hotel I am staying at and then they leave me alone, if not give them some pesos.
There really no need to carry anything of value, other than money. And keep your money in small pocket, or sucks.
JMHO.

you got away lucky. had 100 cash taken from me at the carnival in la vega. damn those pickpockets are good. the funny part was the pricks were still trying to put there hands in my pants after one had already taken everything!. I will never wear cargo pants again. hahaha. wear jeans and keep your money in the front pocket. now my jeans are so tight that those pricks cant get a finger in my pocket!  hahaha

There are individuals (mostly Haitian females) who hang out in front of the club just to try pockets.  You ever notice how crowded it is in front of the club when it closes.  When entering or leaving the club, my hands are always in my pocket holding my money. Fellas while enjoying yourself, always remember there are a few girls looking at your money when your pay for drinks  and taking note of what pocket you keep your money in.

Keep money in my front pockets... And when walking through a crowd I put my hands in my pockets... And I don't let them chicas jump all over me or rub all over me in the streets.

Happens to the best of us. 2nd time to Sosua, was walking back from Classico solo, 2 chicks rush me hot and heavy. The one in flashed me, the one on my side grabbing my crotch and rubbing on me. I'm was trying to back out of the situation politely as they were clearly crackheads, and the chick dropped the wallet on the floor. Then they took off running. If the chick didn't have butterfingers i would not have known and if they were hot, I probably would have allowed it longer. lesson learned: leave wallet, limit cash to minimum you'll need out. Use front pockets. Don't let these chicks get too handsy.
