How far is santo domingo from Sosua and is it possible to travel by bus or cab there? Is it worth it to go for chicas?

It depends on what bus line to take with you take the express or what time is good day and whether it’s raining. So figure about anywhere between four to five hours by bus.  If you speak any Spanish at all and have any sort of social skills you’ll enjoy it. Just understand it’s a city. It’s the largest city on the island and it operates like the large metropolitan city. So it’s not point-and-click likes up north

You may want to consider for your first time just going to Puerto Plata due to it being the closest city. If you really want to go to a different part of the island consider Santiago. It's a lot closer than Santo Domingo, it's smaller but still has a great talent pool. Having Spanish skills will go a long way to helping you have a good time.

Others here disagree with me but my advise is to always start with Sosua for your first trip if you don't speak Spanish. If you just want to hit Santa Domingo, Puerta Plata or Santiago as a tourist, then that's fine. However, not a lot of the working girls in those cities speak English. Second, it's not a point-and-click enviornment for picking up chicas as it is in sosua.

Also, learning a few phrases before you go is not speaking Spanish. Whatever you decide, good luck!
