Committed relationship or not. If your REALLY scared of conscientious of not catching something keep it in your fucking pants. U never TRULY know that a person doing. The same committed men flying out could be coming home catching from the main then bringing it back to dr. So if you gonna be a dirtbag and engage in all that wild fucking around protect urself and everyone u involve in it. Orrr keep it in your fucking pants. No need for a college course on this shit.

I agree with you, but we do need a “college course” on this shit, because I’m seeing that some mongers are still doing stupid things out in the field.

You’re a grown man, and I respect the fact that you’re entitled to make your own decisions, but messing around in the DR on some BBBJ shit, isn’t fair to your wife. It’s none of my business, but why should your wife get stuck with a life sentence of HSV-2, for example, because of your reckless actions? Come on, bro.

Not sure you can judge what another man is doing with his wife. Come on, bro! I am happily married but actually have very little sex with my wife. She's older and her sex drive has declined to almost nothing. It happens to many women and some men. At this point she would be perfectly happy with a few times a year or even none, frankly.

It's easy for me to take some time and get tested when I return from the DR, which I do. And that's after taking all the necessary precautions while I am abroad. Through it all, I've never had a positive result for anything.

Yes, there is a difference between offering good information and engaging in fear mongering.  Your posts are coming across as preachy, not informative -- and that's coming from me, a guy who beleives in practicing safe sex.

I’m glad that you’re playing it safe. When you play it safe, you actually make things safer for the rest of the mongering community. If everyone handles their business the right way, there’s a little less to worry about.

I’m coming off a little preachy, because I don’t like how this topic is constantly brushed under the rug. It’s a very serious, and very real thing.

I also wanna add that I see this BBBJ addiction within the community as a problem. The shit gotta stop. People are playing STD ping-pong along the monger chain.

Dude you've picked one hell of a platform....Convincing seasoned perverts not to get their dick sucked without a condom. GOOD LUCK.

It’s awful damn hard for a man to contract AIDS from vaginal sex though it does occur. As to herpes you’re more than likely going to contract it here in the states than in the DR. The percentage of black women with herpes is absolutely alarming. And forget about HPV if your having sex in the US there’s an 80% chance you’ve already been exposed.

I see you mean well @Optimus but as you'll probably know from "lurking" either 1. Some these dudes take trolling to a new level work the dumb shit they post orr they really are that fucking dumb with the nonsense that is said here sooo... Again mentally I'm with u all the way but you wasting your keyboard strokes...lol. key takeaway here. Fellas protect yourself it'll help EVERYONE in the long run. It's a selfish vile thing to know u have something and continue acting stupidly or act reckless with no regard for who may get hurt in your path. Especially you married men.  Wrap it the fuck up.

@ OptimusCrime  You might have good intentions with your posts but you clearly dont know the entire REAL story about HIV and how it moves through a population.  The problem with Google is that people dont use it for the real info, they use it to find the info that supports their beliefs.  Bro do you know how health organizations determine how people contracted HIV?  They ask them in a questionnaire.  Ricardo isnt going to say he got it butt fucking Leonardo.  Not in the DR.

And again HSV-1, NEVER becomes HSV-2.  You are wrong.  Not a fact.  Not the truth.

How bout everybody just believes what they want, and we all just continue to enjoy this nasty disease ridden town however we each see fit.  I cant see us coming to any other consensus on this overdone topic.

What you’re saying is somewhat true. People do omit relevant facts on those research questionnaires, but the fact remains that various risk factors and transmission for HIV/AIDS do exist.
It’s not just gay people.

Say what you want about herpes, but the fact is this: if a Chica has it in, or on her mouth, she can transmit herpes to your genitals. That’s all that matters. The “label,” or which version of herpes it’s called, is largely irrelevant.

If a Chica with herpes in her mouth is sucking you off BBBJ, you got a problem. 💯

So you’re essentially saying that a 3rd world country (DR) has better education, and more advanced methods of disease prevention than the U.S.? Bro, you sound crazy. Who lied to you? SMFH.

More Black women with herpes? Take that with a grain of salt. Socioeconomic factors play into actual STD reporting in the U.S. White people with better jobs and access to private health insurers are not having their data as frequently reported as those without insurance, and/or on public insurance. White STD rates are underreported, but that’s a whole different thread about systemic racism in America and healthcare. Don’t believe the hype.

For the sake of argument, I’ve gone to diverse schools all of my life. From elementary school, right up through post graduate schooling, 96% of the women I’ve seen and known with herpes were either White or Hispanic. All the time. I can literally count on one hand the Black people I’ve seen with herpes, or Black people that I’ve known with herpes.

Don’t shoot the messenger.

The most recent data for HSV-2 was published in March 2010, based on a National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey study performed between 2005 and 2013 by CDC. About 1 in 6 Americans (16.2%) aged 14 to 49 is infected with HSV-2. HSV-2 prevalence was nearly twice as high among women (20.9%) than men (11.5%), and was more than three times higher among blacks (39.2%) than non-Hispanic whites (12.3%).[8]

The most affected group was black women, with a prevalence rate of 48%. Prevalence increased with age and number of partners. Only 18.9% of those infected had previously been aware of their infection.[8]

2005–2008 HSV-2 study by demographic
Demographic   HSV-2 Seroprevalence   (Females)   (Males)
Gender   16.2%   20.9%   11.5%
Age: 14–19 yrs   1.4%   2.1%   0.8%
Age: 20–29 yrs   10.5%   14.4%   6.6%
Age: 30–39 yrs   19.6%   25.2%   13.9%
Age: 40–49 yrs   26.1%   32.3%   19.6%
Ethnicity: White, non-Hispanic   12.3%   15.9%   8.7%
Ethnicity: Black, non-Hispanic   39.2%   48.0%   29.0%
Ethnicity: Mexican American   10.1%   13.2%   7.5%
1 Lifetime Sex Partner   3.9%   5.4%   1.7%
2–4 Lifetime Sex Partners   14.0%   18.8%   7.3%
5–9 Lifetime Sex Partners   16.3%   21.8%   10.1%
>10 Lifetime Sex Partners   26.7%   37.1%   19.1%
African Americans and immigrants from developing countries typically have an HSV-1 seroprevalance in their adolescent population that is two or three times higher than that of Caucasian Americans.[9] Many white Americans become sexually active while seronegative for HSV-1. The absence of antibodies from a prior oral HSV-1 infection leaves these individuals susceptible to herpes whitlow, herpes gladiatorium, and HSV-1 genital infection. Primary genital infection brings with it the risk of vertical transmission to the neonate, and is highest if the mother contracts a primary infection during the third trimester of pregnancy. In the U.S. the number of genital infections caused by HSV-1 is now thought to be about 50% of first episodes of genital infection.[10][11]

In healthy adults, HSV-2 infection occurs more frequently in the United States than in Europe.

Seroprevalence rates in the United States appeared to be increasing, rising from 16.4% in 1976 to 21.8% in 1994.[12] However, this trend seems to have reversed itself in recent years, dropping to 17.2% in 2004.[13]

The current prevalence of genital herpes caused by HSV-2 in the U.S. is roughly one in four or five adults, with approximately 50 million people infected with genital herpes and an estimated 0.5 million new genital herpes infections occurring each year.[9] African Americans appear more susceptible to HSV-2, although the presence of active genital symptoms is more likely in Caucasian Americans. The largest increase in HSV-2 acquisition during the past few years is in white adolescents. People with many lifetime sexual partners and those who are sexually active from a young age are also at higher-risk for the transmission of HSV-2 in the U.S.[14][15][16][17]

Women are at higher risk than men for acquiring HSV-2 infection, and the chance of being infected increases with age.[9] The CDC reports that 48% of African American women in the United States are infected with the HSV-2 virus. [18][19]

No this is true. We explained this to you but your still not listening

A country being poor doesnt mean its gonna have higher HIV rates than a 1st world nation. America on a whole is obsessed with anal sex and there is a huge drug culture.

What is the population of DR? 10 million?

I bet you can find numerous places in America with a 10 million or less population that has a much higher HIV rate than the DR...

and you can QUOTE ME ON THAT BITCH

RAW SEX IS FUN!

Fact:  Because of the population, it's much easier to get HIV in the US then DR or any STD for that matter.  Most cases in the US, its a well non partner not "hoe."

Stop talking bullshit.

National Center for Biotechnology Information of the United States National Library of Medicine:

“The HIV epidemic in the Caribbean region reflects the highest HIV seroprevalence rate (1.2%) in the Western Hemisphere. Approximately 250 000 persons are living with HIV/AIDS in the Caribbean. This figure includes 27 000 persons who became infected in 2006.1,2 The majority of HIV/AIDS cases in the Caribbean are reported in Hispaniola, the island shared by the Dominican Republic (DR) and Haiti.”

Are you serious.  You come back to me with this, 250K?  You are going banana's on that... Wow. And that's not even DR that's the hole Caribbean.  OK so let me break it down for you.  67K is from the DR!  Also ready this:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that there are approximately 10 million new STD infections each year in the US but can be up to 20 million—almost half of them among young people ages 15 to 24.3 The cost of STDs to the U.S. health care system is estimated to be as much as $16 billion annually.4 Because many cases of STDs go undiagnosed—and some common viral infections, such as human papillomavirus (HPV) and genital herpes, are not reported to CDC at all—the reported cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis represent only a fraction of the true burden of STDs in the United States.

Anywho, it's best if we all stay in the US, it will assure us we get nothing.  JA!

Street eazy is right, I work in a lab.

If you get head from a HSV-1 positive person and she transmits the virus and you get infected, you will have HSV-1. Lets say you actually develop a sore/blister on your penile shaft because of that encounter. You can request IgG antibody assays to differentiate between the different types of the simplex virus.. Once you get your results back you will test POSITIVE for HSV-1 only. Genital herpes is a viral infection that affects the "genital area." So it can be from both subtypes.
