Title: 11 Years In...
Post by: vpeezy on April 29, 2018, 07:12:03 PM
So, May 18th will be 11 years that I made my first trip to the DR... Started in Sosua.. This place has changed so much but still remains the same...

My first trip,

We got off the plane and after paying the $10 visa, were blown away by a choir of "HOLA" from the change girls in airport.. DAMN..

Get in taxi, they take us the "Scenic" Route on strip.. Its 12pm so seems pretty dead.. Im NOT impressed.. Get to hotel Villa Chessa (First spot, stayed 18-21 times and three pool parties)
Then hit the strip.. Called Sinatras now but back then was called  Pjs back then... We sit and eat, we about 11 deep in Restaurant. Its dead to me. Im disappointed.
Two girls walk by, then as they criss cross the two become 5 then 9 then WTF.. its like the bird call came out.. Chics everywhere..

We eat and sip and then walk the strip.. Now newbies will awe in the town now but imagine the streets flooded on sidewalk and street. tables and chairs on sidewalk at all the bars. Every bar full... I mean you could bar hop and have to find a seat a no matter where you went.
They gave us sun glasses, back then you couldnt look at a chic because she came straight to you after eye contact.. It was nuts, couldnt go to bathroom in classico alone. You got groped the enitre walk. We were the bitches...

Rumba was half the size, Where the bathrooms are was a parking lot.
Bourbon st was Latinos (Bar in front/Disco in the back)
Pratiniums was El Flow
Flame was Winner Circle
Dlatin (Or that Area) Was POP Bar and a restaurant (Really small outside Bar)

Most of the other places were here or changed names. But the main strip was

Rumba (Wasnt too popular but a place to chill)
El Flow
Latinos
Winners
Classico (Merengue was more a daytime spot back then)

It was Madness but fun. It seemed like the less rules and crackdowns, the less drama on the strip..

This thread is more about reflexion than stories.. I hear all these Kats giving advice and how things will change but they dont even know how it used to be. It hasnt changed much at all. Some spots closed, others opened. Some spots changed owners and changed names.
some spots were sold then rebought by the original owners.

This town is a cycle and the ONE thing that stayed consistant was that good ol Pedro Clisante

Playa Chequita casino  was open and next door to Villa Chessa, but the After Hour spot was After1 Casino/Club (At entrance to Playa sosua).. They had a stripper pole in the middle of the dance floor.
Shit was lit

Yeah, the good ole days. When Classico/Merengue and Sosua Life/Latino bar were the number 1 and 2 spot and coming in a distant 3rd was Sea Crest.

Transportation

I used to drive but it became expensive and I realized I was paying someone else car note..  I wouldnt touch motos for my first 3 years here.

Motos
- They are everywhere, and very cheap/fast means of transpo. Yes they are dangerous but so is eating hotdogs... I have been in one moto accident (Concussion) and fell off a few times but nothing too serious.
I have a few motos I deal with and if one isnt around I pray whomever I use gets me home safe..
Motos are always a faster option.. for instance to my house is 3-5min on moto, by car about 10-15 depending on traffic..

Carritos (Publico  car)
- If traveling from one town to another they are a cheap option as well. $60pesos per person $120 if you want two seats (They will squeeze 5 in there)
If you want the entire car its $500pesos.. So be weary when a chic comes from POP and tells you $1500 FOR A TAXI.. smdh

Taxis / Uber
- There is Uber in most places, unfortunately they are afraid to come to sosua. So you may not get one to take you to sosua. Taxis can be reasonable as long as you know where your going. Most taxi stands have a set price list if you look.

You can always negotiate for a personal taxi.

One thing I realized about sosua, and a main reason I left for a few years was because there are alot of phonies around. And to be Honest alot of scammers. I find it crazy how dudes will take advantage of their fellow americans/european and do worse than some of them street hustlers.
I have come across all types here and I get amazed at some of the things I see. Since I have been here there have been like 3 ponzi schemes and a few investments that went "BAD".... I see kats tryna guide people around and get money from them like a local would. I was always told I should be paid for my time, But I got this thing called PRIDE. I aint never been a scumbag and dont know that life.

My man for 20 years got at me as to why my prices so low, And other kats price gouging.. Let them do them, I have rules and a code. I Dont screw anyone over and getting 1000 pesos one time or 300 ten times makes more sense to me. But I guess I am just stupid.

This town is funny, I was once told the BEST news in sosua is your BAD news.. I find that to be true... As much as I love the town it has its drama.

Years ago I did a sosua timeline... I think its time for a new one since the town has changed since then

Sosua Timeline..

Now this is MY opinion on where and whats going on. I did one years ago but now that Rumba is gone and some things have changed it is time to update the where and when of Sosua..

9am-12pm (If your looking For Breakfast)
- Bourbon St
- Midtown
- Flip Flop

*Now I have NEVER been a fan of Baileys and my previous two favorite spots were New Garden and Rockys.. They both fell off the past few years. I actually started doing Breakfast because there were less GOOD Options around.

10am-6pm  (Many Options)

Beach
- #38 Flip Flop
- #41 Yahira
- #64 Jorges
- #74 Mofongo King (One of my favorites)
- #108 Big D BBQ
- #112 Treehouse
- #160 Big Momma
- #164 Fast Freddies

Each Location offers Something Different and Unique..

Pica Flor
- If your into that, Usually between 4pm-6pm are good times to check out the Talent. Some guys go early AM and others go later. Really up to your schedule and Wallet

Around Town (If your Not hitting the beach)
- Hands Down, I feel I created the BEST atmosphere, service and food around (Not a shameless plug)  Flip Flop Sports Bar/Taco Shop at Entrance to Beach/Plaza next to Western Union. Coldest Beers and Strongest Drinks.. Aint gotta believe me, try for yourself. As well as the BEST Wings in town (They still tryna steal our recipe) and Honestly the ONLY Real Sports Bar in town.

Now, let me not be bias

I used to love to sit in front of Flow/Pratinium sometimes for hours. I just like the relaxation of the strip when its NOT crazy. Thats just me. Most will still catch me out at flow from time to time (Cant help it)

9pm and on

- Bourbon St is always a hot spot
- El Flow gets busy outside and is nice for chica watching
- Merengue is where most go to point and click and gets really crowded about 10pm

Classico gets crackin about 1130pm

Then The Casino (Playa Chaquita) is the After Hours spot

Now this is me taking two weeks and going into Tourist mode again.

You also have options
- ATV
- Tours
- Fishing Trips
- Boat Tours/Parties
- And stepping OUT of sosua and seeing the Sights..

Flip flop serves breakfast? Bailees breakfast is good but pricey. Never tried Bourbon St nor Midtown for breakfast so I cannot comment. Rockys and Brittanias used to be good, don't know now. New Garden for me is the best breakfast. They give you ample amounts of food with an endless cup of coffee where many times I would skip lunch. Also breakfast time at New Garden is where you would meet other mongerers, exchange stories, get info etc. It was at breakfast time at New Garden where I found out about Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, Thailand, other mongering websites including this Ghetto Ass website.

In years gone by thats called "Gone Native".

There would have been meetings about you and you would be recalled home and re assigned. After psychiatric evaluation.

What you learn from history is.

Yes Flip Flop Serves Breakfast and do our Famous Wing and Waffles all day..

My issue with new garden, had the best breakfast for price
- Raised prices then three occasions hair in food. One time we sent it back and somehow came back with MORE hair.. I still dont grasp how that happened but it made me and my boy stay away.
- Rockys I believe lost their chef. Food not the same and someone posted they use tap water for coffee.. A Deff NO NO

I never really got the entourage thing. I used to keep 5-6 chics with me in the early years because I didnt know many dudes. But when I see dudes with 3-4 hanger ons and street hustlers I really wonder, how can you complain about chica prices when you prolly spent another $100 on the dude rolling with you??

Some guys roll solo and need a guide. Understood. Some guys speak NO spanish and feel a guide is their best way to stay safe. Understood

But rolling with a bunch of locals and acting like a superstar to me is dumb. You have just increased your budget by a few hundred a day and increased the chica prices cuz they gotta get their cut.

I have two dudes I always reccommend if someone needs help, But I see the dudes that say "Yo My Nigga" seem to get everyones attention and they are the WORST.

Just be careful who you let latch on to you. Had a guy come for help because he befriended a local and didnt know this guy was scum. After spending 2000 on drinks for homie, he decided to roll dolo

Dude wasnt having it because he saw a bank. for two days the mofo got at him and made him buy drinks for him and his peoples. Once He got at me, I went with him to strip and told dude to back off.
I dont like having to do that because the locals talk tons of shit about me, but dude was afraid and for those who know me, I got minimal locals I kick it with and NEVER have a hanger on.

Just be careful, especially if they know you need them and are solo. they use everything to their advantage

Good Advice.

Personally I would say you dont need them.  It needs to be stopped and nipped in the bud.

Snitching...

One thing that has ALWAYS blown my mine is the HEARTZ of men. I have been snitched on and watched others get snitched on. Dudes get caught up. I have watched girls I was smashing for years, go and get married. If a dude is willing to change up her life then so be it. Who am I to fuck that up?
But what kills me is when dudes tell on other dudes to chics. What do you gain?  Now I wont blow people up but there are two business men in sosua who are known snitches and some how got a pass. I actually stopped rocking with them when I found out.
I dont think there is any excuse for snitching and thats just me. Telling a chic shit because your love smitten is stupid. Mofos be like "Not my Girl" and then when they see her ass in the air in a photo, they start telling.
Emotions are a mofo.

So be careful WHO you share your info and pics with. I actually sat here one day and as dude was showing off his "WIFEY" and a dude next to him yells out  "Man she got good pussy, I was with her two days ago"....
Homie ran back asap and approached her about it.

No matter how tough, or how hard a mofo may seem. Some Kats deep down be in love. Ive had dudes holla at my broads and I dont care, My reasoning is this
I am confident in me, If you good enough to get my broad then all respect.  I actually have a going bet, If you can get the number I buy a bottle.
lol

I never worry about a broad, I worry about ME. every broad is replaceable..

Threes Company...

I always get asked about it and some harrass me that it must be great.. From the outside looking in, yes it is great but honestly it can be a headache at times. Remember your dealing with two/three emotional creatures.
If one goes to the club with me the other gets tight, and vice versa...  As I said before I am confident in me, So my situation is by choice, I remind them that at any time they can go.

My biggest headache is when they are super nice to each other. this means they are up to something.. lol.. I always believe home is the castle and the place where all stress leaves at the door.
They know once we are home that all drama ends..

I will be honest, I have done the two/three girl arrangement since I was 16.  The worst a woman can say is no. the part that gets me jammed up is the jealousy. they all want to be #1.
in an Ideal world we all sleep in the same bed and wake up to smiles and kisses. the reality is we all sleep in same bed and they both tug at me to get me closer to them for the night..

The one thing I will say is anytime I am out and I feel a little hot.. lol when Im told a number, I just think about how I could go home and save that money.
Reality is if its not better than what I got at home, its not worth it.. imo

WHO Does VP Support??

I gave you the Timeline without being Bias, But I have to give my PERSONAL opinions (I am asked all the time) of WHO I actually support 100%

First, Me and Bourbon St have been doing things for many years and no matter what our personal or professional differences I have nothing but respect for him.
We dont always see eye to eye but when we come together, it gets amazing as many of you remember from the VH days...

So WHO DOES VP Support?? (Wether they support me or not, I respect their business and they are 100)
- Bourbon St
- Freddys (Fast Freddy #164)
- Pyramid Plaza (Really Good Brothers with Apartments/Juice and Snack Bar)
- Midtown (Only cuz that breakfast bagel reminds me of southside in 2000)

That is IT... These places and owners have my support for whatever my reasons are.

El Flow is Dominican and I frequent there and Chalos/Charlys (PTO PTA) Because I like the ambiance and I am friends with the owners.

WARNING TO ALL...

I know alot of guys kick it with Hustlers. We know a few are good and some are bad.. BUT BE WARNED..

This Haitian Kid Named Alex..

Wow, I kept wondering why he didnt have a job but spoke so well and was so well mannered. Homie is a crackhead.  He went ape shit on the strip the other night then went ape shit again today.  I wanted to talk him down but I could tell he was somewhere else. Be careful with who you get close to. Just because they speak english and try to relate does not mean they are cool.

I actually liked the kid and was gonna offer him a job. but what I heard and then saw yesterday and today... I have seen him with alot of dudes so I am warning Kats now. This kid is trouble

Change is always constant, with out change we be bored to shit.. Speaking about sosua.. Sure may not be like in 2013 off the chain chicas Passions, Rumbas Cuba dave, or like you remember in past trips or so called glory days...

the only thing that's has not changed much  , Hoes on the Strip,,, there going to be there for a long time, past present future,  in various forms lol..  unless they out law prostitution and arrest gringos its buieness as usual .
Never had a bad trip,, 25 trips under my belt since 2013,  ,sure I have seen change , ,Case in point Suckers in the American Matrix Guys getting screwed by X whifes ,dating blues American women not giving up the pussy unless they see you check book, Feminazis  and god forbid you say Hot Chocolate to an African American in the States your screwed,, Ill Take the DR any Day !., For newbies go for it

I also stayed at Villa Chessa back in 2006. I enjoyed my stay there, and it had potential to be a premier spot to stay if someone would upgrade it. The only downside was the distant to the strip. What's up with Villa Chessa today? Is it still open for business? Has anyone stayed there recently?

Damn vpeezy I hit sosua for the first time in 2006 after an disagree with my Dominican wife.  We were on vacation from SD  and staying in Alegro in Playa Dorada.  Of course, I didn’t become the sosua vet until a bit later because moma drove me crazy after I went back to pick her up.  I was surprised that she wasn’t familiar.   Time flys though and sosua and the DR has been good to us both.

Yes, it's still open. That rich Italiano still owns it. I have never stayed there, but I usually ride back there and have a quick drink. He needs a renovation really bad. That shit is like a dormitory back there.

Never understood how guys fall in love with prostitutes. I guess im the odd ball. But i never understand how cats can fall with a chick that sells pussy for a living?

And if i am ever going to fall in love, Its going to be a normal 9-5 chick at a supermarket, or if i met her at a library. Not some chick i met on the hoe stroll,

Only 8 years since my first visit and I am pretty much a perennial newbie but my observations from this trip regarding the women (and a 4 year gap since the last visit to Sosua):

The girls are not dressed like they were before, my first visit every one of them had high heels and the most revealing outfits they could get their hands one and the conga line at night through the streets was amazing. A few are dressing up but what I'm seeing basically is a lot of sandals and pants.

People keep talking about quality, I don't it is so much the quality as it is There is the variety (age/color/body types/personality types) and there do seem to be more "seasoned" pros (or rather I'm guessing a lot less new people being run through the mill). They also used to push a little bit of fun with their sex which I really liked now pfff.... nobody calling me papi.

The monger Demographics have shifted but not a ton - The four main groups are still here: the east coast ballers, lone wolfs, The Jersey Shore crews, and really old white grumpy guys... These groups used to be maybe 60% of the monger crowd now they are 80-90% with that first group itself being around 75% so a shift but not something earth shattering.

A bit Surprised they never finished that car lot they were building across from new garden and sad they tore down the bar across from Baileys just to make it vacant land for sale... the X club across from classicos was open last time I was here and was awful, it does not look open but its still there like ti was recently, did it ever become popular? The time I went in they were so desperate for customers I didn't think they would let me leave.
