Santiago to Puerto Plata in 25 minutes!
« on: September 14, 2020, 12:44:56 PM »
It seems like this new road is a top priority for the new President!  This is awesome!  An Uber should be between $20-$30 dollars.  I would def stay in Santiago and just go to the beach in Sosua.  I was in Sosua for Labor Day weekend.  And it is just not for me anymore.  Newbies will love it...vets who are looking for a 1500-2000 peso 5-7 will love it.  Vets who are looking for a more polished 8-9 will not like it.  I don’t like importing to Sosua because I hate being committed to a full day or 2.  But there really isn’t anything for me in Sosua, so that might be the move going forward.

Sosua is great for cheap hoes, and for guys who “ don’t know how to move”.  I hate saying that, but it is true.  Santiago is a gold mind.  Noah restaurant great upscale food.  El patio monument great for drinks and hookah.  Do not go in there with a wife beater and shorts.  If that’s what you are stay in Sosua.  But if you know how to dress and carry yourself Santiago is the move!

I'd say that Sosua is great for Newbies, Vets, Folks on every social level and those with expections for their money. It's a beach town with a great suppy of foreign tourists. Everyone goes there to relax and enjoy themselves. There are 5 beaches people in comfortable clothing will be encounter everywhere you go in town. Definitely something for everyone to enjoy with a beach environment. 50 bucks a day is a good baselinefor enjoying this beach town.

Santiago on the other hand, is large metropolis with more people than the State of Montana. There is no beach in this large city, although nearby, there are many rivers, waterfalls and small lakes. The great news is that it is easy to get around the city to enjoy all the touristy spots, restaurants and clubs. Travelers on every level can enjoy the city with the locals. You might feel the challenge of using Spanish, and Google Translate, and Google Maps will be of great value to you as both of them have a "offline" feature that you can use when there is no signal. I'd say 100 bucks a day is a good baseline for enjoying this large city.

The new road might make Santiago a more viable option but it will still be a roughly 45 minute trip from Santiago depending on where you start to Sosua even with the new road.  Probably more if from the STI airport.  Doubt you are getting from STI to Sosua in less than 1 hour on the new road.

Plus that new road will take years to complete.

Look how long it took to get the small stretch from Amber Cove area to Puerto Plata.

Maybe that road will be made ... maybe the older users on here will not see it before they pass out LMAO
Things move so damn slow in DR ... and don't forget that every major road project made in the last 10 years have been made by private corporations ... why do you thinks all the nice roads to and from SD are toll roads?
Why bother with life?

I was in Sosua for Labor Day weekend.  And it is just not for me anymore.  Newbies will love it...vets who are looking for a 1500-2000 peso 5-7 will love it.  Vets who are looking for a more polished 8-9 will not like it.  I don’t like importing to Sosua because I hate being committed to a full day or 2.

I just got back and I agree.  And 5-7s is being generous.  There were plenty of 1-4s.  There was maybe 3 chicks that was worthy of paying.  The rest I wouldn't use your 1500 pesos to pay them.  I am all about point and click.  If I have working the dating sites and social media and then pay to import a chick to Sosua then it ain't worth it.  I can stay home and date.  I go to Sosua to fuck a variety of hot chicks without much effort.  Might as well play in SD.
