you sound like your complaining 2,4,and 5 can all be chalked up to its low season

#5 there is no one working in the back most likely one dude and to be honest who knows what they do to keep things in sock since its low season its just buis 101 why would they keepa  full stocked fridge in low season with a lifeless place give it a break


your mad in general because you came in low season and it wasn't what you expected so you wanted to come on here and tell everyone how shitty your time was

What slow season?  Sosua is jumping.  people everywhere!  Both Casa Valeria and Las Palmeras were sold out.  Your points sound insane to me!  Why would they have shuttles when one cat is staying at the place?  Because thats what was advertised!  That is what I paid for!  I was not expecting a party, I was just advising people that the place is lifeless in my opinion.  I am not even going to continue with you. 

I am not mad I came during "low season".  I come to sosua 6 times a year.  To me it is always popping in Sosua.  And even with my issues with the hotel, I still had an amazing trip.  Maybe you should read my other trip report.  I am just providing a trip report based on my experience.  Everything I stated was facts.  Like I said I thought that was what this site was for.

I am pretty sure that @Bourbon can appreciate a good and bad review to help grow or improve his hotel.. Notice he hasn’t come on this post and argued back and forth, I am sure he read it, and will address it with his staff.. I am not invested or look to be comped in anyway, just giving my opinion and can respect the opinion of the OP,  and what changes @Bourbon will make going forward.

JMO, slow season or not, if there is an agreement on services for something paid for, than the agreement stands. If chicas started doing thing like that, there would be an uproar. I have no skin in the game, not a member of that establishment, but baiting and switching, based off of this review is wrong. All. Lack business, ain't good black business. Again, I've never been to this spot and had a personal experience, but based off this review, they gotta do better.

I am a huge fan of Mr Bourbon St.  We have sat and talked and I feel his handle on the DR specifically Sosua is very knowledgeable.  I was staying at Anhvee at the time and I wasn’t completely happy with a very beautiful  facility.  The folks there are extremely nice and very helpful they will upgrade you with a moments notice if you are dissatisfied with anything.  However the bottom line is the bottom line you can’t stay in business if you don’t make money.  The bathroom in the middle of the room is a lagistic nightmare, but it’s there if one had to re think that I am sure one would.  Having food sit out 24/7 like most AI is not feasible nor practical if the resort is not at or near capacity.  The fix for that is to bring the kitchen out front and let folks see thier food being prepared.  The wait is way less painful.  As far as rides into town you won’t have a problem when the hotel is at capacity.  I rent a car whenever I am in town so that wasn’t a problem for me. I love the resterant bourbon st and it more than likely helps sustain the hotel.  I am not a big fan of the hotel, but as Nick said the guy dealing with this problem is a good guy who is burdened with a situation that I am sure he will do his best to rectify.  The restaurant was a great idea, it replaced a hole in the wall spot that was an eye sore for Sosua.  For that, he gets a pass from me.

Truth be told he had a fucked up experience. Thats not the norm, but that was his experience. For that I apologized. The OP is not a troll, he's a real person that had a real experience and posted about it on this board. He's right, thats what the board is for. Reports about on the ground experiences.

Now, what Hip Hop is writing about is completely different. He takes a positive review and completely spins it as if we wrote it. He takes a negative review and just makes up other shit. Thats trolling 101. He's got people talking about bait and switching, broken promises, and generalizations about black owned businesses. He's done his job. All he's gotta do is throw enough accusations out there and someone is going to run with it. Hip Hop is not a person, Hip Hop is a organized effort. When our business interest were aligned we were the best in Sosua. When our interest were no longer aligned shit went south. Me going into real details would turn this board upside down and create drama. Im not here for that and neither are you guys.

You don't get to the level of business that we're at by lying and cheating people. Our record speaks for itself. There are some people that live here in Sosua that own businesses that feel that discrediting US will increase their business. Its laughable because thats not a sustainable marketing plan. It may work in the short term but people actually come to Sosua. You can't say Ahnvee cheats people and then they run into lots of members that are totally satisfied. You can't say Bourbon is empty and people walk by and see its the only place with people. you may fool the newbies and people that go once a year.

Im in both of my businesses every single day. We strive to do everything right but there is a huge difference between theory and application. If anybody has a problem with anything you will be heard.  If I can fix your problem, ill do it immediately.


**** On a side note I wanted to specifically address the Internet problem at Ahnvee. We have been having problems with our Internet. Before August there were never any problems with internet at Ahnvee. I would go as far as saying we had the best internet of any hotel on the North Coast. We had individual routers in every room, We were paying the cost to be the boss. In Aug my IT guy came and said he could reduce our Internet bill by 80%. Like a idiot, I believed him. I gave the OK to switch from Individual modems in the rooms to a router system outside of the rooms. EPIC FAIL! I tried it for a month and last week they tore it all down and we are in the process of going back to the individual modem system. That will be finished by this weekend. You won't hear anything else about internet or Wifi problems at Ahnvee.

Bourbon Street thanks for telling your side of the story. I believe you 100 percent. Digital marketing is my business and I firmly believe negative forum postings should be responded to. Definitely should not be a back-and-forth argument, but at least a response every time, even if it's a generic, "We thank you for your business and will strive to be better."

(Disclaimer: I have never met Bourbon Street or stayed at his resort. I am a frequent patron of his restaurant but I am not comped or compensated in any way for my comments. I am not seeking a business relationship with any of Bourbon Street's properties.)
