Room in Campo: USD 60....u can show up at the gate and tell them you want to stay on premises and they will arrange a room for you......

Torso..Great Post..curacao is on my list..i like visiting islands..so its on the list...but i had looked into
hotels before..was not certain where to stay and also transportation..could you shed some light on the subject..thanks
it all depends on what kind of budget you traveling with ..there are all kind of hotels here from cheap to expensive ...but the closest one to campo would be the curacao airport hotel and prices are $75-100 if im not wrong and last time i checked its guest friendly....you can find cheaper hotels around the island with pool and beach but then again you have the transportation issue......
transportation on the island is a most ...is a small island but most of the places stays relatively far from each other and taxi here are very expensive so i would consider renting a car....i would say for mongering try a weekend stay in campo if its for vacation leisure pick a beach hotel with a rental car  for a few days...

now for adventurous souls and mongers that likes to venture off the beaten path......
THE RINCONCITO CARWASH
located on the Juan hato weg a side way to Franklin Roosevelt weg...is a typical  car-wash like in the DR (Dominican owners) that offers car service,food ,drink and music a side with pool tables and of course girls lot of non and semipros to be had especially Dominicans you gonna need some Spanish to pull tho...the best days to be there would be the weekends Fridays thru Sundays...no the best pics i have of the place but then again just for you to have an idea of the spot...this was somewhere during the week...

FLOR DE NORUEGA /VENETIA BAR
located on the cuba weg this bar is famous for it Colombia and Venezuelans girls ...there is over 20-30 girls in each bar with the best selection in the weekends...the girls works here for a tab fee..you buy them drinks for companion..of course they expect at the end that you would either take them out for a multa (bar fine) or take them out after they done working prices are mostly discussed in dollars and can be very expensive depends on your negotiating skills and Spanish.....

WIN CAFE OR PLAZA DE OTRABANDA
located in the heart of otrabanda  well known for its Dominican population ...my guess is 50% of the Dominicans on the island lives here...the wincafe bar offers mainly music and drink and its owned by Dominican...which of course cater to all of them in the neighborhood ...bring your dollars negotiate with the chicas in the bar you can pull just remember not all are working girls you gonna need to filter out the civilians but definitely action to be had there and the surrounds.....

Torso8...this is an excellent post with great information! Curacao is actually my favorite of all islands. I've probably said that on here before. I have never had any issues there.

How long will you be there? I would love to come over and hang out with you. Plus, it's a cheap, short flight over there from D.R. Let me know when it's good for you and I will plan a trip over.

@007
im settled on the island for now ...so anytime you feel like it consider it done ...it would be my pleasure to roll with you man!

@samsom
a car wash in the dr is actually a mixture of a real car wash and a bar... Dominican car washes were normal car washes like those we are used to see. Later they started selling beers and people begun to meet up and hangout together drinking and dancing till late and today they have become the typical and most animated place where Dominicans use to go at nighttime.with this said you can find a car wash all over the DR.now to answer your question one of the well know car washes in Santiago happens to be KELVIN CAR WASH.it is located closed to a Texaco station on avenida tamboril...ask your local taxi or concho they all know this place...unfortunately i don't happen to have any picture of kelvin car wash maybe CCON can help you with that ...there is a you tube video about this place search for it....this one i have here is from OJILVIS CAR WASH in Puerto plata also a very good spot in the weekends to find local talents and across the street is a guest friendly hotel HOTEL KING which is easy to take the girls for the deed...

SOCORRO VISTA DEL MAR CLUB
used to be a hidden secluded spot by locals to drink dance and pull Dominican chicas...they come with a visa of 3 months stay there and work as "waiters" but  was a secret among mongers that they were semi pros girls ....nowadays almost all those girls has been replaced with Venezuelans which are in high demand on the island....there is still a lot of fun to be had here(bachatero would love this place) one of my favorite hangouts ...located somewhere on a hill on the road to the janthiel beach you can still locate it on google maps if im not mistaken...sorry for the blur images ill try to post some updated pics later......

First off if you go off from the crime stats and what gets reported by the media you would never set foot in the DR right or Colombia either.

Yes there is crime but there is crime everywhere and most anyone that has been to the DR would agree that they feel pretty safe when there, I know I do.

I was once in Curacao about 10 years ago on a cruise and I absolutely loved the place.  I have been to many islands in the Caribbean and Curacao was one of my favorite places for sure.

I drove passed the campo compound and didn't really know at that time what was really there but it sounds like a fun place to visit.

Sure things may have changed since I was there last but it is a place I would go back to for sure and the campo element makes it even more attractive.

Sometimes it's nice to get out and check out different places.

Thanks for taking the time to give us your take on the place  but all opinions are welcome
