I’ve been watching his videos. His problem is he doesn’t have enough money so he stresses on and puts up with shit that he wouldn’t have to provided he had $500 or more a month in additional cash flow.

About 10 years ago I was pickpocketed around 1AM as I was leaving classicos and headed to the casino.  This mid 50s dominican woman got me at the entrance to street where you head to the beach.  The crazy part was, as she was walking towards me, I KNEW she was going to try and pick pocket me!

If you had seen us that night you would have cracked up laughing.  It looked like a 1960s video of Bruce Lee doing the Wing Chun hand blocking technique!! I was blocking, parrying and circling away for an entire 30 seconds, constantly moving my feet.  After 30 seconds she suddenly stopped and started walking quickly towards the beach.

I chuckled and confidently patted my pocket knowing I had defeated her with my 5 Deadly Venoms Scorpion technique and lo and behold, she got my money!!  I was so impressed that I was tempted to walk to the beach and ask her to teach her how she pickpocketed me. I was a moving target, blocking and circling away and I had my money in that small change pocket on my jeans, above the normal pocket.  For about an hour I tried to figure how she was able to get her fingers into that small pocket and take the 100 bucks without me detecting.

Home girl was a Grand Master!

More holes than Swiss cheese in this story, did he run out of YouTube material and have himself pickpocketed?

I thought the same.  In the era of clout chasing, these "I got robbed in" or "I got drugged in" videos are clickbait for travel vloggers and some of them are suspect as hell.  He has been arrested, robbed, and been in an accident in a short period of time.  How many dudes on here have experienced one, much less all three and there are plenty of dudes who have been visiting and/or living in the DR for over 10 years.  If it is all true, then living abroad ain't for him and he sure as hell shouldn't be showing other people how to do it.

I’ve been watching his videos. His problem is he doesn’t have enough money so he stresses on and puts up with shit that he wouldn’t have to provided he had $500 or more a month in additional cash flow.

The barrier to entry into the DR to live is virtually non existent. You need a return ticket to get on a plane (we know how easy that is to cancel) and a very modest exit fee when or if you leave.

Consequently folks like this guy, likely on a low pension that does not qualify for a legal residency visa can live better here than at home.

The country basically allows the importation of poverty.

His pension must really be low or he's  not budgeting correctly if he's having financial problems. I know when I'm in country my living expenses average about $1200 a month for a one bedroom apartment, food, alcohol, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses like laundry service. My chica budget is separate. Now I cook quite a bit of my own food and don't mind walking or using public transportation depending on where I'm at. So that cuts down on my cost. If I chose to live in a not so nice apartment I could drop the cost down to about $900-$1000 a month.

As for the issues he has had he's probably is one of those guys who hasn't been outside of the country much and is learning as he goes. He's been there for about 8 months so he's not doing too bad.
If you can't change the outcome of a situation then don't worry about it.

It's curious the VA is opening the new office on Pedro.

It's either there because there is a large number of vets in the area (still an odd location), or it is there to encourage vets to move to the area.

The ongoing expenses for the VA to maintain (cant think of a the best word) a vet in the DR have to be substantially lower than in the states.

A US Veterans Association in the DR or another type of VA?

Took in the guys videos, not trying to knock on him but after living in DR for 7-8 months he should not be making these mistakes. I know he's relatively new to the whole blogging BS but he just doesn't seem that comfortable on camera and that might translate to daily life...could be a reason he is having certain issues. I respect that he is trying to inform people of certain potential mishaps and isn't a creep cam kinda dude...he's brutally honest. Many people wouldn't admit what they have endured or the "simping" they do but he puts it all out there. Hope the best for him but he's gone through more in the recent months than many have in years whether tourist or expat.

The BIG mistake he made, not going directly home after the bank or Western Union(b-day money from fam.) $500 in Pesos is a big stack, easy to see and find by a skilled chica. When you change large amounts or pick up large, be aware, people see it!!!! In OVER 10YRS. NEVER LOST A CENT THAT WASN'T MY FAULT,LOL.
