“We are thrilled to welcome Arajet Airlines as our newest carrier of the Toronto Pearson family. They began operating flights to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on October 24. Arajet Airlines will be flying out of Toronto Pearson four times a week, offering more flexibility to get to this popular vacation destination. As a low-cost carrier, Arajet also provides passengers with an economical option to travel to that region”

Yeah but... Overall airlift into POP sucks. Was talking to a german lady and she said there are only 3 flights a week from Europe and i know the Canadian carriers reduced their routes last year.

Thousands and thousands of hotel rooms and AirBNB's from Maimon to Cabrera and the North Coast is seriously underserved by the airlines.

And still people are buying property like mad to add to the rental pool. The new phases of Casa Linda and Hispaniola are going to be a construction dustbowl the next few years, brutal for vacationers. And the Casa Linda condos at Enquentro are right beside the highway on a hill! The noise will be brutal and people are buying them as an "investment", madness.

That said, the traffic through town yesterday was BRUTAL and the snowbirds are not even here yet.

They already have flights from Montreal to SD
Prices are low only if you don't have luggage ... and for the cost difference, it's still a better deal to fly air transat to POP than arajet to SD.

Agree with the first part.  I usually fly with AirTransat.

From my research in the past Toronto didn’t have direct flights to SDQ until now. From Toronto I had to fly to PUJ / take the bus to SD.  If I’m staying in SD I prefer a direct flight.  Good to have options.

You missed the point.

Toronto has regular direct flights from multiple airlines that fly direct to POP (4 hours).  Doesnt make sense to try and save money to fly to SD to transit to Sosua.  When I stay in Sousa I only fly direct to POP.

The post was for anyone who wants to stay in Santo Domingo now has a new option of a direct flight.
