Title: Europa?
Post by: JustinCase on March 14, 2021, 11:45:05 AM
Thinking about staying here for a month through AirBNB. Any fellow Vets have any info on this place. I’m sure it’s guest friendly but how are the conditions? Any info is appreciated.

Plenty of info on here on the Europa,
Few tips and obsevations   the only thing is if you go with the Arbnb   There is no daily maid service  meaning no clean towels cleaning service  it would be exstra,
Europa does have a monthly rate  may be cheaper than the daily,
Tight security  meaning you have to get let in by the security or front desk,,
only one chica at a time,,,,other than that a good spot.
second spot  Sosua suites like a 2 star hotel ground zero on DR Rosen near the Teralinda
2 minute walk to the strip,,   You can get a monthly rate  lets say around 600-650 usd
Basic apartment with daily maid service night security,  chicas strolling buy all the time
like shooting fish in a barrel ,have fun !

Get the best place you can realistically afford.

Can you stay in a hotel room for a month? What about when it rains, for two-three days straight? What about when you don't feel like going out? What about when you get tired of eating chicken wings (is that even possible?) and feel like cooking, or have a chica cook for you.

A one/two bed condo with a pool and security on AirBNB wont break the bank. Extra points for an ocean view.

Never stayed a Sosua Suites, but i think it could be a fun idea for a night when on a mission instead of going to Dolci Secreto.

I stay at Europa a lot but I would never do it again as an Airbnb guest. The lack of maid service and the lack of enough clean towels and sheets led to a miserable experience for my only stay there as an Airbnb guest. Staying there as a regular guest and paying the going rate to the hotel was much, much more enjoyable. Do yourself a favor. Don't go the Airbnb route at Europa.

Bingo. One thing the chicas don't like is a room with dirty towels -- meaning the towel has been used even once. During my Airbnb stay at Europa it got to the point where I had to buy several towels from a nearby thrift market and then pay to have them laundered every day.

Europa is a well know monger spot with chicas hanging around.   I love Europa but dont recommend staying there long term. Eventually you'll find that ST chicas waiting outside for you the next day. Moto drivers do drive by to see if your sitting at Ramonas.

For the price what i do is book at Europa for 10 days as my primary and 3 days mid week at Las Palmeras for smash pad and to change up the routine.  Rockys was good for that too and breakfast was right there.  or El Legendario.  Also vetting a chica at the smash pad prior to a bringing her LT at the spot where you keep your personal stuff at. ALL Locals are very observant. they watch where and how you move.

just my 2 cents.

$ solves all perceived problems.  This is a no-brainer.  Just pay for a maid.  Pay the maids.  Pay the front desk. Pay the owner or manager.  Pay a private chick. One way or another, the “problem” disapoers if you hand somebody twenty bucks.

So i had to leave my spot and had to find a place for two nights. Friday and Saturday, and i did not plan anything. Casa Valeria was booked, Playa Alicia was booked, so i was heading to a spot to get some lunch and look online and i drove past Europa. Why not...

I think it was $86 for two nights, maybe a bit more because i paid in pesos. Its a basic cheap hotel, security was good and i think they do a "resort" lock in now. The party moved inside from the bar and was for sure going on well past 11.

What else was going on way past 11, 12, 1, 2... was the fawken noise outside. Moto's, yelling, fighting, I was on the road side. It's a pain in the ass.

I think you have pay a little more or sweet talk the senora for a better room inside. That whole area is high-traffic 24/7

Ahhh, Europa. One of my favorite spots. All you need there is a chica who screams like hell when she is being pounded. And you don't have to worry. With all the other noise nobody will even hear her.

Enjoy.

When not staying in a villa Europa is my spot..tried other places such as New Garden and Piergorgio but not the same as Europa at least for me. The location pool and having a nice staff there are factors.

I enjoy staying at Europa for the most part but they need to invest in some new mattresses for many of the rooms there.

I have had trips where after a few days my back really hurts and it no doubt is the crappy mattresses causing the problem.

Also going to need some bug spray as those nasty little mosquito's seem to find their way into the rooms

I just finished a month at Europa before moving to an apartment on Saturday. I had towels changed all 30 days I was there.

I had sheets and linen changed every other day. They also did my dishes and of course, cleaned the floor and bathroom.

I gave the maid 100 pesos every other day.

However, I will never stay there again. Mosquitos out the ass. Noise from the Dominican apartment adjacent to  Europa. Noise 20 hours a day. Also non-strop noise from fellow guests.

INTERNET is the worse I've ever experienced. The internet caused me a lot of trouble. Especially for my online Spanish classes.

You a brave man for spending 30 days there. I saw a big ass cockroach on my window and knew I made the right decision using it as a secondary place. But despite the problems Europa is a FUN place. Lots of expats and the security is cool af.

Europa works a couple ways. You can book through the hotel directly or through an Airbnb guy who actually owns one of the hotel rooms/apartments. I've stayed at Europa -- through Airbnb -- for as little as $18 a day. But that price does not include maid service or full cable TV. After doing that a couple times my advice is to book through the hotel for the best experience, even if it costs more.

Unless i don't know the location, i never book thru ABnB.....just go straight to the source.

Booking thru ABnB, all you're doing is paying them that extra fee that you don't need to pay.

Not the case at Europa. The Airbnb rooms at Europa are owned by individuals -- not the hotel. A few of them are quite nice, but others not so much -- and you can't rent the nicer Airbnb rooms for dirt cheap. Overall, the majority of the rooms are owned by the hotel and they offer a decent value. A while back I got an Airbnb room at Europa for $18 a night. Cheapest from the hotel directly was $48. But there were negatives -- no maid service, crappy TV and shitty cable. The next time I booked through the hotel and it was like night and day in terms of service and amenities. So yeah, you can save money at Europa via the Airbnb route. Just be prepared to give up things like maid service and a better overall experience.

No.  When i mentioned "cheaper", I was referring to booking thru the host directly vs booking thru AB&B.

Any time you book anything thru AB&B, AB&B itself charges a "service fee" (or something like that).  In your case, i'm guessing it was $18/night + the AB&B fee.  Granted it's only a small amount/percentage (i think), but you still woulda came out a lil cheaper booking directly thru the individual vs the site.

That's why ABnB doesn't list exact addresses....because if they did, they know the guest would simply just call or go directly to the host, cutting out AB&B all together.

That's what i do now with Pyramid Plaza and my apartments i usually get in POP.  I know the hosts, so i shoot a quick whatsapp message whenever i wanna book.  They then go into ABnB, and block out those dates for me.

@Just_A_Guy,

Dude, booking through the host directly vs. booking through AirBnb?

How cheaper can I get a room at Hotel Europa when the hotel is offering $48 a night and Airbnb has a similar room at $18 a night? Are you really suggesting that the owner of the room would give it to me for $12 a night?. I mean seriously, I don't understand.
Title: Re: Europa?
Post by: PapiViejo-Dark Lord on August 03, 2021, 06:57:02 PM
Technically, it can be accomplished. I spent 15 a night there thru airbnb and the unit was great. Therefore going off the airbnb books, between the seller and renter should be cheaper.
Title: Re: Europa?
Post by: Stones on August 03, 2021, 07:19:38 PM
Technically, no. The owner has expenses. He has to pay somebody to go in and prepare the room for the next guest. Where does he get his profit? Papi, if you paid $15 dollars a night, and the owner has to pay the Airbnb fees and housekeeping, how much does he make vs. the $15 you paid? Three dollars profit for the owner? Two dollars?
Title: Re: Europa?
Post by: PapiViejo-Dark Lord on August 03, 2021, 07:36:31 PM
His margin is his to assess. If he paid Airbnb to rent it for 15, he can cut them out and do a deal between you and him only. So if he owns the unit outright, making $360USD cash a month, is nothing to sneeze at. Id take that deal to entice someone  to stay at my spot over nobody renting the place.
Title: Re: Europa?
Post by: Stones on August 03, 2021, 07:49:54 PM
Simple math, Papi. Even if he rents it for $15 without Airbnb, how much does he make? How much does he pay to have it cleaned? $15? $12 $5?  At $15, $12, $5, how much does he put away for general maintenance and repairfs?

Do the math for me Papi. Would you buy as an owner into a rental complex at those numbers? What would be the bottom line for you at $15 a night?
Title: Re: Europa?
Post by: PapiViejo-Dark Lord on August 03, 2021, 08:10:32 PM
It's a factor of time and occupancy. For example, as a satisfied repeat renter, who gets my money every visit? How hard is it to clean the unit? How many days/months does the unit sit empty? Does a unit rent more times at 12 or 15? Most landlords appreciate Airbnb but do just under the table as well and especially after dealing with renters personally. For me, its a no brainer. Whatever brings customers is a better choice!

Bro....no, i'm not suggesting the owner of the room give it to you for $12 a night.

In your scenario, if the AB&B price is $18 a night, then the owner of the room can ALSO DIRECTLY charge you $18 a night...(seeing as though the host/owner sets the price on AB&B to begin with).  The only difference being you're not going thru the site, and paying the site's service fee.  Either way, the owner receives $18/night.

Simply put...

Book directly with host = $18/night
Book with AirBnB = $18/night + Service Fee

Dude,

If I am Joe Nobody, how do I know who is the owner of a room at the Hotel Europa hotel? Just tell me that and we're done with this.  If I am a newbie, then Airbnb is something I have heard of -- because I am a newbie. How do I get to this next level that you speak of?

The answer is simple. Over time, you get to know the owner and you go direct. But chances are you cannot do that on your first visit because you don't know dude. You do know Airbnb. You do know the hotel. But you do not know dude who actually owns the hotel room.

Please.

Who mentioned anything about “newbie” or “first visit”?

Go back and read my initial comment. I specifically included the caveat of “Unless I don’t know the location”.....which implies either I know where it is, or I’ve stayed there before.

If neither applies, THEN I go thru ABnB (because I’d have no choice).  And once I’ve stayed there, I then keep the host’s contact info, and book directly thru them every subsequent time…knocking out the middle man.

My comment was strictly regarding "host" vs "site", in general terms.

Never mind. We're talking about two different things. Obviously if you already know the owner you would just call him. But if you don't know him that's not an  option. It's just basic common sense.
