Going to Cuba in April. While communism is not perfect and honestly Cuba should move away from it or at least model itself like China, I find it funny that the critics of "sOciAliSm bAd!" completely ignore the USA embargo significantly harming Cuba. Of course the current govt of Cuba doesn't make it better especially without the support of the Soviet Union. But God Damn a lot of these post don't know what the hell they talking about, nor know what socialism or communism is besides just screaming what Fox News tells them. Cuba's problems are multifaceted. And no USA is NOT heading towards f--king Cuba you idiots lol. By that logic most of freaking Europe is ALREADY "Cuba" and communist af. lmfaooo...

So please enlight us all what socialism or communism really is. And while you’re at it please also tell us where and how it was successfully implemented… asking for a friend. Thanks.

Socialism IS NOT COMMUNISM, not even close!!! Only right wing ass hats think they are the same thing. "SOCIALISM" takes many forms, like free education, housing relief for the poor, food stamps,public pools, libraries, free health care and a "citizens bill of rights" . Most of the world has some or all of these "rights" for "all" their citizens,  unlike  the US.

not to derail this thread but you are right, but the U.S. does have socialist policies at federal, state and local level (unemployment, benefits such as medicare and social security, benefits in the military)

Yes the US has these policies in some states, but not for every one country wide. Some states do a great job using tax payers money for the good of every one, others, not so much. The WHO has ranked several US states below many 3rd. world countries for poverty, premature death and infant mortality. Like I said before here, the largest % of "GO FUND ME PAGES" in the US are to cover health care costs. So what does that tell you!
