I was just in Sosua August 26, 2021 - September 5...$100 american dollars got me $5600 Pesos with the guy in the both across from Terra Linda Hotel

That's good.

Google has the exchange rate at 56.86, so basically anywhere that has it for 56 and above is good.

What I do in any country is use a zero comission debit card to withdraw cash from ATM. You get a perfect real MasterCard exchange rate. But most countries take cards. The DR is different because nobody takes cards and the ATMs charge a 300 peso fee (Banco Popular) to use it which is scandalous. You could need only 1000 peso but be charged 300 for your money. In a hotel they say for example $40. You go to pay in DOP and they add on 200 peso to todays exchange rate. No hotel yet has given me a receipt either. So would it be cheaper, given all this to go to a money exchange? Some hotels will accept bank transfer. You could do that with a card like" Wise", this could also be cheaper. Edit: wise does not deal in DOP. Anyone know if anything similar?
