I was always a loyal Blackbeards customer.  Sometimes I would stay there and other times of property elsewhere, but each time I visited Puerto Plata I visit Blackbeards.  I definitely contributed mightily over the years to their food and beverage revenue.

I probably won’t be spending as much time or money there going forward based on my last few visits through there.  I may not even go back.

The owner is there 24/7 which would be ok if he was allowing the place to operate and the girls to have fun.  The place feels like a prison and he is the lead guard.  The girls and staff appear apprehensive around him and it’s just uncomfortable now.

It used to be fun and you could relax, now this guy is always there creeping around looking for some type of inconsistent rule to enforce.

The policies with the girls and rooms are different as well.  If you show up you will pay double the advertised rate of the room if you are looking for a S/T bang session + the cost of the chica.  Makes no sense.  The girls are not allowed to be seen off property with any gringo outside of their working hours.  It does not matter if you are/aren’t a guest of Blackbeards.

And for those complaining about not being able to bring outside booze into BB’s, here’s a reminder directly from BB’s as to why that is:

“Blackbeards has not raised room rates in over 10 years  and when we did so it was less than a 10% Increase.  Our hotel, like all other hotels in the world, rely heavily on the income from Bar and Restaurant Sales. We no longer allow any outside purchased alcoholic beverages to be brought into Blackbeards, it will be confiscated upon your check in and returned to you when you check out.”

Do you want higher room rates? No? Then stop complaining about not being able to bring in outside booze.

I think what he is saying is that if you drop in at Blackbeards and want to stay for an hour or two, then BB may charge you the full night's rate for the room -- and you'll have to be out by a certain time if the room has already been reserved for another guest. I've been at BB when the cruise ship passengers race in and pay $60 for a room that they will only be using for about 30 minutes. But that's the way it goes. It was worth it for those cruise ship passengers to pay what it costs to get some nookie.

Nico doesn’t have any pull at the place anymore and neither do Hilda or Crystal.  It’s a one man show with the owner.  He is always lurking and watching.  He makes all the decisions including what the girls can and can’t do. 

Blackbeards will do just fine without my business.  I enjoyed going there for many years.  I’ll give it another try in a few years when the current owner cycles out of there.  Until then, god speed barba negra

Oh, chicas can do whatever they like outside of bb. They just can't come onto the property and take guests away -- unless they have a room and are buying drinks and food like everybody else. I remember when BB used to allow guests to pay a fee to take a chica off campus, but even that has been stopped.

Think about it. When a chica leaves with a guest, that's one less chica left. What if four or five leave? Assuming that, who are the remaining guests left to f--k?

I definitely can imagine it’s an unwritten but known rule that “if you’re off the clock do you, but you’re not contributing to the demise of my business by collecting money instead of working.” You have to snip a few chics loose to prove a point. They are freelancers, who are given the opportunity to make some money by being eye candy. “If you’re not being eye candy, what’s your purpose? You took an opportunity to build clientele and now are screwing over our working arrangements. We don’t have to do business anymore I’ll find someone who can listen and not be selfish” So that’s likely the mentality and i understand it.

A Haitian guy off the beach kinda has a similar approach. Won’t name him, but place us great food and some decent to attractive chicas, however he’s too hands on involved. Like dude relax and let the girls make money, buddy of mines went for a 250 drink, tipped the girl an extra 500 peso because he was trying to get the number for a smash later. Boss keeps pushing food, and cockblocking so my buddy decides he’ll just eat elsewhere and hit the chic up later. He was ready to drop 2-2.5k on food and drink, but the boss killed the vibe.

I wasn't referring to a guy taking a chica that is there off site.   But quite frankly if he is hiring her to spend time with him and say a ST rate entitles you to be with that girl for a set amount of time what difference does it make if they go to his room, to the beach, someplace else to eat or shopping.  The dude is paying for her time and she wouldn't be available to anyone else if they were in the room.   If they hire them LT than no one gets that chica until that time is up. If they leave with a guy BB knows about it. 

Those girls are not there 24/7.   What was being said was that if a girl is seen with a guy outside of BB they would be fired.
Again makes no sense.  How can they be fired if they are not an employee and how can they have anything to say about what a girl and a guest do on their own time.

With all that perceived control the owner appears to be exhibiting now perhaps they are in fact directly profiting off from the chicas. 
 Exhibit to much control over them and they will be deemed employees and as such subject to minimum wage laws potentially termination pay
Or even worse be considered pimping regardless if they are getting a cut of that ST rate or not.

Sounds like you have been out of loop long enough that you really don't know what's up there anymore and perhaps your not the "man' there anymore like you think you are. 

But your constant and consistent defense of anything BB is quite comical. 
Especially if you are collecting any benefits from them which I doubt you are.

Honestly i think the new owner is setting himself up for some serious trouble with the authorities if he keeps it up. Trying to control girls to the extent he is is asking for trouble, especially since they arent suppossed to technically be employees anyway.
