Yeah... It's gonna rain. A lot.  Stay off the roads Tuesday afternoon/Wednesday morning, flights likely affected those days too.

Not a hurricane.

Just a low level tropical storm predicted to bring quite alot of rain

Things can change but I wouldn't get to excited about it as it likely will not increase in strength before it hits the north shore.

Yep I was down there during Tropical Storm Fred. The lights blinked off for a few seconds, I thought it was a regular rain storm until I saw Palm fronds all over the Malecon.

Boca Chica took almost a direct hit and the power was out for a couple of days and there was flooding.

The Cibao is moutainious and those Mountains usually help which is why  Santiago and the North Coast is usually unaffected.

I guess if I was boots on ground I might cut my trip short and if I were planning to come down this weekend I'd wait or go elsewhere but If I were locked in or couldn't leave I wouldn't freak out over it.

Maybe the extra lube and condoms isn't a bad idea because you can probably get a cut rate deal on a TLN to ride out a storm with a Chica riding you.

In Sosua it was not bad at all.  Was more like a typical rainy day.   With the usual flooding of certain streets.
Where you stand on the issue depends on where you sit.  The words enough, some, many , to whom it applies to, does not mean ALL of any people, places or things.  If you cant, dont or wont learn from friends, family or your peers, dont worry the locals will teach you, and you will learn the hard way.

There will be another storm named by tomorrow. Its going to be big... Again. The limited info they put out prior to naming it has it passing above Hispaniola, so don't put the wellies away yet.

Tropical Storm Lee!

Computer models have it passing north of Hispaniola early next week as a Cat 4 hurricane by about 300 miles. Thank you!

There will be some rain nonetheless and some stinking big waves.

Now Cat 1 Hurricane Lee.

Should be 300 plus miles from POP.

They are not really forecasting beyond early next week. Could swing back to the east and cause Bermuda a little stress, could head up to New England or The Maritimes, or just churn away out in the ocean and never get to shore.

Whatever the path, this thing will be huge.

Wow, so what's the bottom line? What should we expect on the North coast in the next two weeks??

There will be some rain bands. Take an umbrella when you go out for a walk.

There will be some waves. Don't swim at Playa Alicia if the surf is breaking.

PLAYA  ALICA is one of the deadliest beaches on the north coast, big drop off to deep water 100 feet out, major under tow!!! Got good advise from a local, go into your knees, if the sand starts to cover your feet, get out!!!
