Blackbeards: Sold Out Sept. 1-14 2023
« on: August 22, 2023, 06:29:04 AM »
The new owner must be doing something right despite his crackdown on outside liquor, beer and food. The latest newsletter reports there is no room availability through the first two weeks of September 2023. This comes on the heels of BB announcing that Halloween Weekend is also sold out. Owner dude is obviously making things happen.

Yeah.... That's probably bullshit and they are likely closed for those two weeks. I think the place is now f--ked up and about to be driven into the ground.

I stopped in, very quiet, no men in the place, and just a few girls hanging out, and two were rough, likely just a few months away from finally hanging it up and getting a job in housekeeping. Was thinking just a quick beer, but I am as weak as water and now I have heard they have a ST room, who knows.

I got a text, "Eres tú el que está sentada ahí?" looked around and spied an old regular I knew from Santiago. Ok, a possibility. I wander over to say hello, was gonna get her and her friends a corona and a large presidente for the ones hanging by the bar.

Before I get a chance to order, the four get up from the table. I sit for a minute and another text comes through. "Amor aquí no es permitido sentarse con los cliente de la calle".

f--k off. That day the place was dead and they are chasing away potential business? The only reason anyone would stop there is because there are women on board. I have stayed there a half dozen times over the years, often stop in for some drinks or food and have been a fan and supporter.

That place is dead to me now.

Probably bullshit? Who knows. Pretty ballsy for a new owner to fork over a reported $1 million plus and then start chasing off his customers. There are issues about him being a control freak, but hey, it's his money. Time will tell. I had heard about the new short-time room where you can just bounce in and stay for an hour or two. Great for guys staying at the all-inclusive Lifestyles Resort nearby, and who want to sneak away from wifey for a quickie. But I hope BB does not become a hardened whore house.

I do agree, based on stories I am hearing, that it's not the same as when the previous owner died -- and that's too bad.

Well, I can only imagine that the new owner doesn't want dudes popping in doing a ST and leaving in less than an hour. That propbably explains the restrictions and the premium charge. Think about it if you owned a "resort" like BB's. How does Joe-Shmoe from the street help or further his business? He doesn't make money from the girls. He makes money from food, drinks and hotel stays. I'd probably be prioritizing the guys who STAY at BB's too. He probably doesn't view his place as a whorehouse either which is why he has restrictions on guys coming in from off the street and charges a premium. It's no different than me going to the Hilton in a major city, walking into the lobby and buying a coke from the vending machine only to take a nap on the lobby couch for an hour and leaving. Some random who stops at the bar for a beer or two and rents a ST room to f--k one of the girls is not where his bread is buttered. Sure, some ST guys might not like that but business is business.

I'm struggling to understand how people don't understand how a hospitality business functions. The owner isn't in business to help you bust a nut on the chica's face and attach pesos on her forehead for the hour. Your happiness isn't his priority if you're not staying there. The man sells hotel stays, alcohol and food. The chicas are the loss leaders.

You write that, Jett, but this is exactly what the new owner is doing! That is the business model and it has been for years! Jett, have you actually ever been a customer at Blackbeards?

The difference with the new owner is the nuance. I have been going to Blackbeards for well, a long time. Under the previous management you could drop in, tell them you want a room short-time and they'd give you a rate for 1-2 hours or maybe 5-6 hours depending on how long you want to stay. Now you gotta rent out the bust-a-nut room and be outta there in say, 30-60 minutes. Just cheapens the whole experience in my opinion.

Also, I disagree about your comment, "I'm struggling to understand how people don't understand how a hospitality business functions. The owner isn't in business to help you bust a nut on the chica's face and attach pesos on her forehead for the hour. Your happiness isn't his priority if you're not staying there. You couldn't be more off base.
The only reason BB has existed for as long as it has is they provide a safe place to enjoy chicas in a somewhat controlled environment without the drama that street chicas often present.

BB is an average at best resort in an area that really isn't all that conducive to the resort guest, it has just been tolerated for a very long time.
No one will just come in there for food and drink.   Without access to the chicas BB goes out of business.   The chicas are there to make money.

Unless they are booked everyday which I highly doubt to be the case that guest off from the street is someone the owner should be welcoming with open arms and if he plays his cards right can make lots of money off from especially during the day when things are slower.
Make it a place they enjoy coming to and they might just come back and stay for a few days.
Make it an unpleasant experience and you will never see them again.

I disagree. It’s more wise for BB’s to cater to their staying guests first and foremost.

The casual dude coming in off the street isn’t going to spend the same money that the staying guest will. Outsiders should NOT get priority, nor take up space and time with several chicas at a time that they most likely won’t even do business with.

Additionally, primarily catering to staying guests helps keep the BB’s operation more calm and low key.

What Costambar doesn’t need is a revolving door of street visitors (which will more than likely consist of more locals) regularly popping in and out of the hotel. Being an actual brothel is one thing, but obviously LOOKING like it from the outside is another thing, and that’s when BB’s presence can begin to ruffle the feathers of residents who live in the area.

IMO, the owner is correct in his approach to outsiders.

About the response I would expect from the constantly out of touch wannabee

I don't have hate.
Just call things like I see them and often am pretty much spot on.
and call out the pretenders and wannabees.
Some of you try so hard to fit in it's pathetic.  You know who you are.

My issues have never been with Ahnvee only with certain people affiliated with them.
Appears that Ahnvee is nothing like it once was and they are no longer worth talking about

And I am not hating on BB either.  But the direction they are currently headed in doesn't bode well for their future.

Sorry to hear Ahnvee is still floundering or on life support. I was really excited about the premium monger timeshare thing but that quickly withered away after reports about the cold-as-ice in-room pools and the open-air bathrooms. LOL. Still feel for Bourbon Street though.

My two cents

There doesnt need to be an either or policy. Why cant BB continue to cater to both it's visiting guests and staying guests?   It's staying guests 1st and foremost.   And cater to its visiting guests as well.  Tailoring their experience accordingly/appropriately.   Food and drink only, or renting a short time room and hiring the talent, or paying for drinks/food with some of the chicas on duty.

Many guys have brought friends and family there to check the place out.  I know, I did.   While there, they get to see how the day to day operation works, as well as check out the talent.   Find out the meals and drinks are pretty good there, without even having to stay there or hire any of the talent.

How about the couples looking for some kinky action that came to BB to check out the place, and ended up putting BB on their bucket list for the future?     Some casual interaction with the talent on duty could lead to that couple pulling the trigger and staying at BB.

In fact, many taxi tour guides, brought their clients to BB.  And that is another way in how BB got more guests to end up staying there.   References, word of mouth, and casual visits have been valuable tools for why BB has had the success all of these years.

The added bonus is that it is a safe, discreet environment, where they dont tolerate any nonsense and bullshit from the chicas.  Especially towards their clients.

Where you stand on the issue depends on where you sit.  The words enough, some, many , to whom it applies to, does not mean ALL of any people, places or things.  If you cant, dont or wont learn from friends, family or your peers, dont worry the locals will teach you, and you will learn the hard way.

Jett, please! Without the prostitution, Blackbeards would be dead! Dude, you don't get it! A lot of people on this board don't realize that Blackbeards is nestled inside of a GATED Homeowners Association in Costambar. I mean there are actual families living down and across the street! Again, have you actually ever been to Blackbeards or are you just talking?

*Sigh*

Yes Stones, I've been to BB's. I've been coming to BB's consistently now for about 10-11 years. In earlier years, I would visit twice a year, but now it's about once a year for a 7-10 day stay. Matter of fact, I'll be there again in mid-October before the Halloween event for another 7 day stay. Now that I can safely say that I'm a BB vet, does this now make me qualified to have my own opinion?

When you stay as a guest at BB's do you really give a shit about how much the ST room is? Or do you simply move how you move having a drink at the bar, ordering food, swimming in the pool and ogling chicas for your next f--k session? I'll say it again, BB's pays its employees and expenses through stays, food and alcohol. The girls are there but they don't get money from the girls. If you can't grasp this simple concept then I can't help you. Argue with yourself.

Tell you what. In order to avoid the typical immature back and forth nonsense that goes on on this forum(I really miss the old IFTC forum), why don't you sit down and talk to Nico at length as I do to get an idea about how BB's is actually run. I know full well where BB's is located and the general feeling about BB's in the Costambar community. Why not simply talk to other business owners as I have in Costambar and get an idea of what really goes on in that community. You might be surprised to know that some key businesses support the continued operations of BB's. Again, don't @ me. Argue with yourself.

For all of the "BB's is dead or will die because xyz" mongers who post, do you realize how foolish you sound? "BB's would be dead if there were no chicas!" Well yes, BB's would obviously be dead if there were no girls; SMH. The fact is that this hospitality outfit has been around for 25 years now should give you pause. BB's has been in business longer than many of its detractors have even heard of mongering on the North Coast. I remember the same nonsense about BB's going out of business for years. Even moreso when they closed for Covid. BB's is often booked up and business has been consistently profitable.

In the end believe what you want to believe. I don't care. I'm not attached to your opinions or your cynical perspective. I'm headed back to BB's in October and like always, I'll have a great time.

Thanks for your response. However, I discuss things with people. I don't argue with anyone, including you. When I asked if you've ever visited Blackbeards, then that's because I wanted to determine what perspectives we're both coming from. It's not intended to be a slight. You and I may see the same thing and yet both come away with completely different perspectives. I am all about meaningful conversation, but I laughed when you wrote this about me, saying: "Do you realize how foolish you sound?" That's where you lost me in this conversation.

I will tell you what:

No matter whatever you say, I will never accuse you of "sounding foolish" because you expressed your opinion, even if disagreed with it.

On the other hand, my expressions are my own and I'll stand behind them.  Again, I express my opinions, but I never attack the messenger or accuse them of sounding foolish.

Have a nice day.
