What's the latest? Is the coast clear for a visit to the north coast in last week of September?

It's weather. No one knows what's going on two weeks out. That said:

It is hurricane season. until November 30

North coast typically does not suffer severe impact from storms.

Take an umbrella.

Get flight insurance.

And... There is a system coming off Africa now, 90% chance of being a storm in 7 days, you wont really know where its going until then.

So it may be a little mucky coming and going out of CLT this weekend with TS Ophelia (ah... TS means Tropical Storm weather wise) next up...

By middle of next week there will be a pretty big storm that could come close to following Lee's route.

Hopefully it passes well north of DR and they just get the waves and a little rain again (did you see video of the surf coming up to Mojitos in Cab?) and stays well off the east coast.

Lee did make a mess of parts of the coast of Eastern Canada.
