Looking at my stocks I think it’s about to be a another backslide. At least big brands like FootLocker are f--ked. Disney is also f--ked. It’s the quarterly report that did it in. Even PayPayl started to climb out a whole then had a 17% drip turn worse. Dominicans might be trying to get out ahead of it, especially because the rebound from the exchange rate declined and is back to 1-55DOP instead of 1-50/52DOP.
Cheaper ways to do things, doesn’t indicate quality, or lack of

Inflation is taking its toll everywhere. People just aren’t spending the money they used to spend, because they don’t have it, so businesses and services are feeling the pinch.

When profitability is projected to become an issue, you try to cut your losses to get ahead of it. I’m just speculating here, but I don’t think there’s any other reason for the sale. Anyone that’s been to Sosua during the early part of any week knows that there isn’t a lot of activity going on. It’s essentially crickets. Weekend warriors alone can’t keep those businesses thriving without robust consumer participation from the locals, which just isn’t happening.

well they will have an almost impossible task selling.
sosua is down.
when would they be able ro have the place fully occupied with customers to even fool a potential buyer.
when one wants to sell Baliee, things are bad.
speculating they are not making the profits needed to feasible not sell.

how do you think this all effects the chicas, I was thinking about going next month or waiting until february/march. In terms of speculation will we see less women out even during the weekend phase? or less women in general? Will prices lower bc less people will be visiting spending vs higher prices to offset the low customer turn out? Will there be a quality dip in women? (perspective)

I was down last month and the quality of the chicas was beyond ghastly.  All overweight and packed into the same outfits they bought 40 lbs ago!  Also, over-treated hair and fake eyelashes made for a muppet.

My wife and I were in early contract on an amazing 4 bedroom condo on the Alecia Beach right before COV.  I got spooked and decided to back out and forfeit our binder.  Lucky move…

I don’t expect a precipitous drop in overall chica turnout unless Bailee’s shuts its doors altogether, which I don’t think is gonna happen any time soon, if at all. I think they will most definitely find a buyer sometime in the future.

Chica turnout on weekends is generally okay, but it does ebb and flow for reasons that are mostly unknown. Quality won’t change as far as it getting any worse, if we’re just talking about looks.

Prices are already dropping for gringos if you consider the current exchange rate.

I don't know the owners/investors and can't really remember what was there before they opened with the updated rooms. Was that 5-7 years ago? It was not 10.

Without knowing what the business plan was/is all i can say is that they took a property, added value to it, likely made a profit along the way and now maybe they have other interests.

I would not read too much into it at this point.

I take full responsibility for the peso dropping. I had to make a term deposit in Pesos to get a secured DR credit card. Naturally the minute i transferred dollars to pesos the rate changed.
