You should be OK.  Sosua is pretty safe.  You don't have to worry about getting drugged or robbed.  You can walk just about anywhere so you don't have to worry about taxis/ubers.  There are plenty of bars and spots to chill and a great beach where you can meet people.  You're not confined to city Malls, which is nice.  There is a decent expat community.  People are typically pretty friendly.  The women are there and you can also chill and have a relaxed vacation.
