Great fish spot on main road

Fish On The Road is what we call it. I don't know the real name. This place has its tables a few feet from the busy road and if you get through your meal alive, you have come out ahead of the game because you will have had a delicious meal. There are only about four tables outside but usually you can get one or someone will move for you if you are a group. Go inside before you order and pick out the fish you want. These fish are right out of the ocean. They have mostly whole fish but you can get fillets of mero too. I have to find out if they grill fish because i have only had it fried there. The shrimp is OK but i think it is the kind you buy in the supermarket. They have lambi but no lobster i think. No rice here, only french fries or fried plantanos and salad with lots of cabbage. Sodas and fruit juices. Reasonably priced and based on size of fish. An authentic Dominican style fish restaurant.

How to get there.

Walking: Starting from the Sosua side of the beach (where you enter the beach at the parking lot) walk the length of the beach to the other side. Exit beach and go up the hill (this is Charamico where a lot of your lady friends reside). At the second street make a left (there will be a traffic light at the top of this hill). Make a right at the light and walk about 300 yards till you see a place that sells solar energy equipment. The restaurant is next door.

Driving from Sosua: Going towards Puerto Plata and starting at the big Texaco gas station on the main street, pass the traffic light at the Playero Supermarket then go past the next light in Charamico (at Caribbean Tours bus depot). About 300 yards later you will see a place that sells solar energy equipment. The restaurant is next door.

note: If you don't get around too much to see how real Dominicans live while you are here, walk around Charamico as it is a true Dominican barrio with few foreigners--at least for now.
