Dave was not a nutter. He explained what was going on, what mongering was all about. Because of his openness and his videos he became a target All of his content, that I have seen is perfectly legal.

I dont know what a nutter is, but Cuba Dave made himself into a target.  He was one of the 1st pioneers to irritate the shit out of Dominicans using a public platform.   Many Dominicans hated seeing him put Sosua and Dominican women on front street.  Later came TMD, who took it to another level.

But Cuba Dave on his YT channel would openly talk about prostitution in Sosua with DR women.  Talking about costs of doing business with them.  In one video he gave a great car rental analogy of how to use DR women.   To use them like the way one would rent car.   

From a mongering perspective he did offer great advice, but he wasnt that intelligent in how he went about talking about a hobby that should have been discreet, and kept on the DL.   He should have had a private channel or platform, sort of like TMBTS or ISG.

Additionally, he did not have a comprehensive knowledge base as a monger.   He just happened to know a lot more than some guys who had never been to Sosua.     He was limited, He liked places like La Pasions or CMP.    I doubt he knew much else about exploring outside of what he was comfortable with.   

CD was just like a lot of other people with a Matrix mindset.  They thought that free speech on anything they choose to talk about is their GOD given right to be able to express it everywhere they go.   If he had stayed much longer, the DR's wrath would have come down much harder than they did.   It took him f--king up in a different country to finally contain him.

I used the word nutter to describe him as a crazy person.  He did have good information but he was not real bright for the reasons you mentioned.
