This could go down as one of the stupidest investments in a long time.  You might not like Dean Cole, but he was not stupid enough to invest in the Sosua Red Light plan.  Let's start with this before you invest in a red light zone wait until after the elections because maybe there will be a new president and a new party controlling the country.  The party that made this agreement is the PLD and is now on the ropes big f--king time! Papi does not agree with me, but learn Spanish because then you will actually know what the f--k! is going on in the country and have something to say that makes sense when you come on here.

I keep telling you part of the new Presidents coalition is the PRSC.  Here is what papi will not tell you because he does not know Spanish and does not like when I say learn it.  There is a political party within the new Presidente's coalition that is called the (PRSC).  The Socialist Christian Reform Party.  They serve as the moral compass for the new President.  They have pushed for heads on corruption within the country.  So far, two of the former President's brothers are in jail in preventive custody on corruption charges.  Yesterday the former head of security for the last president along with an influential pastor for the past President were put in jail for the next 18 months on a preventive hold and a lot more are going to jail everyday.  The PRSC hates the PLD and remember it was them who made the red light agreement for sosua not the new President and his coalition.  Again, you have to be a real idiot to build something that caters to mongers and prositutes before an election  because the party might change.  If the PRSC, wants to get rid of corruption do you think they are going to sit back and let a red.light district happen within the country that was agreed too by a party they hate.  Bourbon is not stupid he knows what is coming that is why he is doing events that cater too Dominicans. But you do not have to learn the language and make stupid investments because you listen to people who are not popping.... I keep saying get in the game or sit on the sidelines and be below average.

Haha...Let the record show Papi believes we should learn Spanish, and also don't be afraid to jump in the deep end without it.

That is all. LoL!

At this point, zero sign of life. It certainly does not appear to be open.

Down that way there is a nice looking cafe across from Ahnvee i have been meaning to visit, the NY Drink bar gets really busy most nights, and a hotel same side of  the street closer to Ranch Typico looks like they are trying to get their bar open, at least they have tables and umbrellas out.

Something random, I looked at some old pics yesterday, it was 7 years ago Passions closed.

The 2413 Sports Complex shut down.   I.M.Observation due to very little business coming down that way.   They hired a staff,  but not enough people were coming there.   Not enough guys showing up,  chicks dont have an incentive to go there.   Not enough chicks, and same for the guys.   The food and drink menu, was not enough to draw people to go there.

So rather than continue paying a bored staff with nothing to do,  they shut down and elected to continue with the construction that was going on in the rear of the complex.  Namely the pool.   Even if the place was completed,  people are not going to change from where they are comfortable going,  just to go to the Sports Complex.

Mega incentives may need to be offered in order to get both guys and chicks to show up there.    Just like Ahnvee did by providing reduced hotel prices for the chicks to stay there.    When Dave ( the owner of 2413 SP Complex ) was operating out of High Caribbean, the provided free drinks to the chicks that showed up.

But as soon as those chicks realized not enough dudes were there to hire them,  they all bounced and never came back.   More chicks came, saw the same thing, and bounced as well.   Guys too.  They heard the place was open.  Came to check it out.    Saw no chicks, or saw only undesirables there,  they bounced.   So it's very important to have the right  ambiance and patrons there that people expect to see.

Where you stand on the issue depends on where you sit.  The words enough, some, many , to whom it applies to, does not mean ALL of any people, places or things.  If you cant, dont or wont learn from friends, family or your peers, dont worry the locals will teach you, and you will learn the hard way.

Just got back from a month long stay and that place has abandoned for now. Walked past it most days on my morning walks and there was ZERO activity.
If you can't change the outcome of a situation then don't worry about it.

Playing devils advocate,  although a very risky move on his part, the owner of the 2413 Sports Complex is a lot smarter than any dude that comes on here making predictions of expats needing to protect themselves from certain doom at the hands of locals.   Doom that never materialized, I might add.

The owner of the Sports Complex is a Puerto Rican dude who also has spent considerable time in the states.  He also is or at least was the owner of City/Sosua Lights.   Which did quite well in it's hay day.    So he's no stranger to speaking Spanish or running a business in Sosua that already had mongers and prostitutes going there.  Plus he's no stranger to the politics involved.    After all,  the current mayor, Willy is and was in the same boat.  Because he has a club/disco in Playa Chiquita he would like to open.  So was Willy an idiot for investing in the club he was running that catered to mongers and prostitutes?   All was fine pre pandemic.    So you see, some cats with hoof in mouth disease arent fully versed on what really is at issue here in Sosua.

But lets talk about what was going on before the pandemic.   If every venue had moved down to the designated area,  they would have been up and running with no interference, up until the pandemic became a factor.  At the time there was nothing but undeveloped land.   Bourbon Street voluntarily closed down their spot on the strip.   They already had a venue to go to, in order to continue their operations.   And who was going to Ahnvee when Bourbon Street closed?   Mongers and prostitutes.    At the time,  the issue up for discussion was if Ahnvee was in violation because they technically may not have been in the designated area.

But Ahnvee got past that, due to their status as a resort/hotel.  And that is one variable that helped them to survive and stay in business.   So them having mongers and prostitutes didnt get them shut down by the new coalition.   And since the President and his coalition has been running the country Ahnvee still hasnt been shut down.   So where are these alleged  monger/prostitute concerns supposedly coming from, and where is it supposedly leading to?    Crickets.  Keyboard warriors from ATL cant tell you.

So if you are some clown talking about how mongers and prostitutes is the issue officials are so concerned about, then why hasnt Ahnvee been shut down completely?    Last year even when the new president was in office,  Ahnvee had officials on his property staying there to watch and make sure Ahnvee was in compliance with occupancy , health and safety guidelines.   They werent there to eliminate prostitution.

When the pandemic and lock downs occurred, no large places for public gatherings were allowed to be open.   Clubs and discos are the last type of venue to open.   The former president and his coalition and the current arent going to allow discos clubs to open as long as the health officials advise against it.

Going back to the owner of the Sports Complex.  He is a builder contractor.  Which means he has the skill, the vision to physically build a Sports Complex in Sosua.   Something most dummies complaining about people supposedly cant speak Spanish is unable to do.  Flapping gums, is their main skill set.

Obviously he had the means of getting the capital, or he had the funds in order to buy or lease the land.   His complex would have been completed,  but the pandemic and closures set construction and production way back.   The Sports Complex showed signs of life during Super Bowl week.   But they still had a major problem,  A very restrictive curfew.    So one needs to understand,  not much can happen if a restrictive curfew is in place,  and the venue has not been established as a go to spot like Rumba/Kings.

Ahnvee's ability to operate way past curfew hours,  visiting guests easily connected there,  taxis allowed to post up outside, guys and girls were actually staying there made Ahnvee the obvious choice for after hours entertainment.

So if not for the major set back of the pandemic,  closures, and restrictive curfews in place,  the Sports Complex could have been a great alternative.    The late start, operating within a curfew,  far off location made it diffcult for them to really get off the ground.  And the thing is,  the place is sill under construction.   They have a place inside designated for a club/disco.

Comparing E. Dean Cole's situation to the owner of the Sports Complex in Sosua is dumb.  Apples and Oranges.  An established business man that had businesses set up in the DR already, and speaks fluent Spanish to a dude that had no clue what he was doing, who was feeling his way at every step.   And guess what?   Im sure there are mongers and prostitutes dining at Atlanta Lights along with the American buffalo that show up there.

Why even reply to dudes who you know only right about 10-20 percent of what they say? The minute they are right about about something they come on this board and BEAT THEY CHEST bout it, but they NEVER talk about the 80-90 percent bullshit that flies out their mouths in the past. I can't get with or take people serious who NEVER admit when their wrong or have to add their input on EVERYTHING! I can never have people around me like that and I don't.

Oh yea one more thing.....EVERY business owner and builder in SOSUA can speak Spanish....even the ones who were shutdown in the past and will be in the future. You talking bout a 323rd world hack country....that is ENTIRELY ran by kangaroo court political theater and changes day to day!!

We can write pages here, but here are two questions that anyone is welcome to answer:  Did the new government including the president and the current political parties make the agreement to have a red light zone in sosua.  It is a yes or no question.

2.  If they did not make that deal which was done by the PLD are they obligated to honor that commitment and have a red light zone in sosua....  Will the PRSC who has been killing the PLD with forcing corruption arrests of high level PLD members accept a red light zone in sosua.  Again, I play at a high level I would not make an investment until I knew who was running the government, but that is just me I do not play to lose.....

You think that new studio development on the North Coast was a coincidence - guess again... The film studios in Atlanta are all booked for the next 3 years.....

When I say something it's never made up I tend to know a little something....

Here's something else to consider.  NYC Drink is a bar.   They have mongers, prostitutes, chulos, and hustlers up in there.   They are only a 5 minute walk from the Sports Complex.   If mongers and prostitutes are such a bone of contention for the new president and his coalition, then why are they allowed to be open serving the same types of people that some keyboard warrior claims is a problem for the president and his coalition?   IMO NYC Drink is just another El Flow re located off the strip.

So what has really changed downtown on the strip?   The main change is Classico,  a club /disco is shut down, and unauthorized from opening.  Meanwhile, look at whats been happening?   Businesses are popping up all around the strip area.    Mostly restaurants.   And who are they able to and are currently catering to?    Mongers and prostitutes.    So where is the evidence of some implied cease and desist agenda that the current president and his coalition have against mongers and prostitutes in Sosua?     What we do see, is law enforcement managing how prostitutes move about publicly when they are unescorted.  But nobody is trying to STOP prostitution entirely.

Dont all of the hotels in Sosua cater to prostitutes and mongers?   How is the president and his coalition managing that reality thus far?   Maybe none of them have had a meal up at Bailees in the last few months?    Or never bothered to check the type of guests going in and out of the hotels in town?    Oh but I forgot,  if prostitutes are inside of a venue, then they arent as much as an eye sore or a threat to the environment.   It's mainly the chicks on patrol and loitering in the street that are the main ones that LE are focused on.

Prostitution is all over Sosua.   If the president and his coalition's focus is on mongers and prostitutes,  I wish someone would tell me what is their supposed plan and course of action towards mongers?    But in all the years Ive been coming to and living in Sosua,  not one keyboard warrior from ATL or anywhere else has explained it on here yet?

You forgot something a keyboard warrior who if I lost my phone and someone jumped on a bike to.find me and give back to me.  I would pull money out of pocket as gratitude as a thank you.  I would not look him in the eye and make up  up some spiritual shit as justification to not give him money because I am pinching pennies this time in my life. I am grownman I do not lie to myself to feel better about things.

By the way, I have never seen so may high level arrests of political figures in the DR at any one time.  So, you can say there is no plan, but I see them killing a political party that has run the country for decades.  Keep thinking no plan is taking place.  Use that spiritual shit to make yourself to feel better.  I keep stacking...

A non sequiter response. Huh.    OK.     Your bullshit was clearly debunked, and the only thing you rely on is a weak shame tactic?   I knew you wouldnt have much of a comeback, but you couldnt come up with anything more substantive than that?
