I saw this awhile back. I must say the one thing I hated most about Sosua in it's decline was how they would try some type of scam to get paid without doing what was agreed upon.

The embassy just put out a warning not to use dating apps. 8 Americans dead between Nov1 and Dec 31.
Not to mention a lot more druggings and even more that go unreported. Colombia is simply not worth it anymore. Been goin monthly for 7 years. Why have to look over my back just to get a nut.

because it’s fun, women look better, less headache and it’s not hard to fly under the radar and avoid bs. Don’t assume you’re in the DR, and just know in a majority of the world, you’d have to have situational awareness aka look over your shoulders. You spend a premium for safety, but it’s not always necessary to get taxed. Aka a $200 fortress is solid, but sometimes a 20-50 spot would suffice, though I’d never scoff at paying $200 for safety and peace of mind if I felt my life was in danger(what I imagine from paranoia and reality are two different things)

The girls are a shell of the quality that use to be around since the real dimes are traveling all the time. The cost of girls and Airbnb has doubled.
The new thing is holding you up in your own Airbnb or having cab drivers in on the robbery while they hold you at gunpoint and max out your cc or crypto on your phones. Had two people in the last month I know that happened to.
While I’m grateful I’ve never had problems if you’re going to Colombia just for pay for play it’s simply not worth it.

Exactly!! This is suppose to be vacation or leisure. If you have to look over your shoulder and willing to go through all these risks to get some damn pussy that’s just straight desperation. I get it. Have fun and bang girls for cheap. But at what risk? Too many other countries got girls. Buenos Aires, peru, Cuba, Dr, Cr, all the Asian countries. And you wanna go where there coming up with new scams to cheat foreigners everyday.

I’ve been told by several women that no longer visit that they stopped coming basically because they didn’t want to deal with the type of guys that now show up here. Granted that’s simply the opinion of a few women, but I definitely caught their drift.

Pre-Crew/TMBTS Sosua was the best. About 15 or more years ago. Hardly any beach chairs on Sosua beach and Playa Alicia didn't have anything there. All you could eat lobster at La Roca. I'm glad we did take some time back then to sit back and realize how lucky we were. The only constant is change. When you go to any of these places, you have to know your limits and how to avoid creeps both locally and visitors.

Probably a lot of theories. The demographics in Sosua changed over time. Both the mongers and the chicas. The general change in the environment caused a backlash on several different levels.

I started to see a big change to inter-city culture about 8 yrs. ago with the expansion of free wifi at every business, chicas didn't have to pay to be on line any more. Chicas all ways had some tats, usually where you had to pay to see,lol. Not like now though.I may be wrong, it's just what I noticed.

From the intel I’ve gathered, Cartagena is all f--ked up. Mayor got the place upside down. The best clubs have been closed, checkpoints around the walled city, taxis can’t get through, chicas can barely stop to congregate, shit is a mess.
And from my experience, the beach has always been pretty light on action at any time of day, so it will be interesting to get word back from dudes with boots on the ground what they’re seeing and experiencing.
I was actually gonna pull up in Cartagena, but I pulled the plug on those plans once I heard what was going on. I’ve got a little roster over there, but if I can’t step outside of that to even explore further within the nightlife like I have before, it’s barely worth the trip. Smh.
