Smdh! Why am I not surprised? Sounds about right. Same with the yellow fever vaccine some countries require. No one ever asked me for it. This current requirement you mentioned I believe is just to deter and try to scare folks. They could have at least faked it and checked everyone the first week, lol.

Testing requirements and follow-up when you arrive in the states is pretty lax and difficult to police. The authorities know that, and opt to randomly enforce it instead and/or rely on paranoid compliance (some people will seek out contact tracers, etc., to voluntarily give their information to, while others will simply walk right past them and not hand in a single document form). ??‍♂️

 Cases are going down from the recent peak that had everyone freaked out. Provided the new variants don’t start the fire to burning again I think the requirement won’t make it past May.

Don't get people confused. The negative covid test is for the AIRLINES not U.S. Customs! You need the test to board the flight, once you board the plane your good, put the test away you do not need it to reenter the country at U.S. Customs

Yes I don't know why people are telling others this is just a tactic to scare folks not to travel. They saw the first day of new requirement when over a thousand people couldn't board planes from the DR back to the states. So if fools want to think they can board that plan without getting that test done because 1 person did then I hope they have an extra few days of vacation on the books...

The clinic across from Playero is good only 2000 pesos and same day results.

I just got back to US last night.  This whole Covid test is a joke. I flew jetblue out of Santiago.  The first worker who checks your passport before you get to the counter asks for it and give it back to you and that’s the end of it. They keep no record and it’s a smooth process.  I probably could have printed a piece of paper saying Covid not detected and they would have accepted it.
