And remember, just because everyone is panicking over Covid's Delta Variant Plus, doesn't mean that we're not going to die horribly.

The vaccine only helps you from getting very sick and perhaps dieing. Not from getting the virus. I was in Sosua from Dec. 2019- Mar. 2020, got very sick in early Feb. was told I had pneumonia at MEDICO SOSUA , was treated with intravinus antibiotics., then 5 days of intramuscular and 7 days oral. I recovered okay, but by the time Igot home(what they call the long hauler effects) kicked in. At 65 it kicked the shit out of me,I'M STILL NO OVER IT.

Ok fellas I am still here on the front lines working in the shit every day.  I keep hearing that vaccinated people still get sick.  Well we haven’t treated any vaccinated people at the four locations I workout of silver spring, Tyson’s Corner, Largo or South Baltimore.  Now that could very well mean those vaccinated folk didn’t get sick enough to seek treatment.  However the none vaccinated are are still seeking treatment and their numbers are growing.  The regrets are all too familiar “I was planning on getting the vaccine I just hadn’t gotten around to it.  What’s is a positive is their aren’t so many of them that they overwhelm our healthcare system.  We still have plenty of ICU beds and ventilators.  I am not going to push the get shots button you do you.  I got mine I really had no choice and I’ve haven’t had so much as sniffles during this pandemic.  I got my first shot in December second in January.  Moderna and I won’t bullshit you that second moderna shot is a bitch woke up in the middle of the night shaking, teeth chaddering chills 24 hrs of misery.  I don’t recommend Moderna.  Most of my colleagues got Pfizer it’s way less intrusive second shot no as bad.  There is a huge list of them out there now, Sinovac big in the DR Chinese drug, Johnson and Johnson, abdala and soberana are two Cuban drugs claiming over 90% effecacy,  Russian  Sputnik V with two others as well. AstraZeneca out a France is another.  The world is battling this virus!!!!

My favorita cought covid in may ... I know because she went to be tested and came back positive ... shown me the result of the test and had to stay home for 3 weeks because they wouldn't let her come back to work until she can show a negative test.
She had her first shot last week and she told me that in Santiago, they give them the choice between sinovac and Pfizer, she took Pfizer, of course, because even in DR, nobody wants that chinese crap injected to them  ::)

I made a post asking if anyone caught covid and failed the test coming back. I dont think this happened to anyone , at least nobody said i did. I came down on 5/27 till 5/31 took the test no issue. Get back home and by 6/4 i felt tired and by 6/5 it was a wrap, had the chills and went down hill from there. Im good now but wanted to say fellas please still be careful while on vacation. This covid shit is still out there.

for a trip under 5 days like that you could have taken the test in america on the morning of the 27th,  If positive, cancel trip, if negative, then you can use that test to re-enter. Eliminates the possibility of getting stuck because of a positive covid test (unless you have a fever and they take your temperature at the airport like Panama). A 5 day or over trip you have to take a test in that country. But good point, even vaccinated people are testing positive with the new strain.

My understanding is that you can’t use a test you took in the US to renter the US.

Nope, only the date matters. I used this method  3 times in the last 2 months. No issues.

Had a chica text me last week asking for money so she could get a vaccine shot. In Santo Domingo some doctors want 1000 pesos to get the Pfizer instead of the Sinovac (Chinese).

I caught it in Santo Domingo in January. Thought I had a minor cold. Didn't feel so bad like I needed to be stuck in bed or hospitalized. Got home and tested on January 15th. The test rule to return to the US started on the 26th. Any sooner and I would've been stuck in DR longer than I had planned.

Yeah, can't argue with you on that. Shortly after I went into quarantine I was bugging my doctors at the VA to get me on the list to get a vaccine appointment. First Pfizer shot on 2/10. Second on 3/2. Even when I was in quarantine things were mild. Hopefully no more people catch it period or at least a bad case.
