Sounds like excellent info to me I ve booked now I am extending.  One week of sport f--king coming in on  29 of July.  All praise to the vaccine and opening up for fun in the sun.  Vanray Apartmentos this time.  I’ve got a birds eye view at the best talent.

Thats what we are looking forward to.  But there may be some caveats that need to be met 1st before they actually do it.   Dont forget, the health officials and govt is looking for a certain % of people to be vaccinated around the country.   It's possible that if they dont achieve their targets, rescinding the curfew may be postponed.   

In other words when they mentioned rescinding the curfew,  that may have been a stick and the carrot approach to encouraging more people to get vaccinated.   A possible trick?    In 3 weeks or so,  they can always say we failed in getting enough people vaccinated, the numbers of new cases have sky rocketed etc ,  therefore we have no choice but to maintain the curfew.   Geez,  I hope I am dead wrong.   

But they ( the govt and health officials ) have been consistently inconsistent and contradictory in their policies.   Why should they stop now?    Lets hope for the best.

I don't think so.  I think if stipulations existed, then whatever that stipulation was would have been brought to the forefront and highlighted.....making it a huge forcing function for people to get vaccinated.

If anything, not actually coming out and making it a stipulation will decrease the number being vaccinated.  Because those folks can then say "since they're rescinding the curfew anyway, why do i need to go get vaccinated?".

I dont know if you have been reading and/or following articles here in the DR, however what I read suggested that there are caveats or stipulations regarding lifting the curfew.   What have you read to the contrary?

Abinader detailed that from Wednesday 21, when the third phase starts, the curfew will be unified at 11 pm Monday through Sunday, with two hours of free transit.

“From that moment on, we will be opening and eliminating the curfew in each province that reaches 70% of its population vaccinated with the two doses,” added the head of state.

My take :

Thats the caveat or stipulation clear as day right there.   It's not a threat or a warning per se of what happens if they dont reach 70% vaccinations within each province.  But that statement clearly suggests that 70% of it's population within a province needs to be vaccinated with the two doses in order for them to see the curfew eliminated.    And it isnt far fetched to believe that where 70 % of vaccinations do not take place with the two doses, that province will likely still be under a curfew.   You still dont think so?

Can you please explain why you feel differently, about what Abinader was reported to have said?
