Prostitution Steals The Peace In Icon Tourist Town?

https://dominicantoday.com/dr/local/2018/07/16/prostitution-steals-the-peace-in-icon-tourist-town/

Sosua, Dominican Republic.- The rise of prostitution in the area concerns representatives of the various sectors of the tourist town, a practice they say has alienated hundreds of tourists looking for a place to enjoy with their families.

They say despite that prostitution occurs in broad daylight the the authorities don’t intervene. “Unfortunately, Sosúa is losing hundreds of visitors due to this situation,” said Julio González, a regular visitor to the area beaches.

Diario Libre reports that together with prostitution, “other dark businesses” take place here, which have robbed the tourism sector of its tranquility.

In that regard, North Coast deputy Tourism minister Julio Almonte, said the agency and law enforcement are registering the “ladies of happy life” who come to Sosúa to practice the trade, to reduce their number to a minimum.

Sources quoted by the outlet say 90% of the sex workers are Haitian.

My take :   Unbelievable bullshit.   Just where are all of these families going to stay if they come to Sosua?  Most hotels throughout Sosua are set up more for the single traveler, not for families.   Most tourists that come as a family stay in resorts.  And they usually already have their own beach on resort property.

Oh so now Tourism and law enforcement is going to register the working girls who come to Sosua to hustle?   Thats going to reduce their numbers to a minimum?    Are they also going to regulate how much chicks charge, and supervise how they conduct business?   Like bait and switching pricing, coming to work on their periods, etc?    Once registered, does Tourism get a % of what the girls make?  Is that really the gripe?   Why are all of these chicks making money and they arent being taxed for it.    I believe thats really what their concern is based on.

And last but not least.  90% of the sex workers are Haitian?  Unf--king believable.   Step in Bailee's any time of day or evening and which women do you see the most up in there?   Dominican women.  When Ahnvee was in full effect.  It was mostly Dominican chicks,  and mostly Dominican chicks occupying the rooms.   Everywhere on Sosua beach is mostly Dominican sex workers.  Go back to every major season, like Super Bowl week.   Hundreds of Dominican women descend from all over the island to come to Sosua to hustle.

It was mostly Dominican women hired to spend time up in most of Sosua villas.  Hired by the van loads.  When Pica Flor was in operation,  probably over 90% of the women there were Dominican sex workers.   Go back to La Pasion and CMP days.   Mostly Dominican sex workers there.   And someone is going to claim 90% of the sex workers are Haitian?   More accurately, the sex workers that get hassled and chased the most by law enforcement are Haitian.

Im waiting to read/hear what they have in store for mongers, johns and tricks in the near future?

This is the most bullshit article yet on Sousa trying to clean up their act. Sousa has such a limited infrastructure, resources, facilities and accommodations for families they should welcome the hoes and monger's, without them Sousa would be a poverty stricken burden ghost town on the Dominican government in 9 month's. And to say 90% hoes are Haitian GTFOH more like 25% and then where would all the old whitemen go who love them hoes.

Hit piece!  Somebody paid/influenced the press to produce a story to justify/manipulate changes to Sosua. There is no rise in prostitution in Sosua.  If anything...there is a drop in prostitution from last year.  And registration for rights always leads to confiscation of rights.

Interesting article. They’re concerned about Haitian sex workers (and obviously, the majority of White men who solicit them).

A site user comment even stated:

“We went to Sosua yesterday. At first it seemed like a quaint tourist town then we started seeing young women and girls with breast and butt implants and old white disgusting lecherous men and realized what was going on. Get rid of the men or cut their dicks off and you will solve the problem. Problem is they probably have money so nobody will do anything about it.”

Lol. Shit is funny. According to posters on this forum, Black men were causing all the problems and bringing all the negative attention to Sosua. Apparently not. 😆

For the record though, the article is bullshit, and it’s a targeted and racist attack on Haitians whom they wish to scapegoat. The majority of sex workers in DR are Dominican, and authorities aren’t going to do anything about it.

They’re gonna register hoes? Haha! That ain’t happening either. Most hoes are gonna refuse to go on the books as an official hoe. It’s a pride thing. All a registry is gonna do is push the trade underground. The bright side of that is this: if hoes wanna stay underground and avoid a registry, there’s going to be a price rate drop in the market. If the hoe doesn’t wanna get registered, she’s gonna have to take reasonable peso offers to make some money underground.

This is straight bullshit. They are obviously tired of the Haitian women and the men they attract (White Caucasians and Euros) to Sosua! They don't like the interracial f--koonery and dollars bypassing Dominican chicas hands and going to Haitian families instead. They know Haitian women can't register since most aren't citizens.

So here is the question. Caucasian men...what are you going to do about them DISCRIMINITATING against most of you, your lifestyles, how you dress, your music, physical appearances and your preferences in women?? Are you going to run back to Asia and deal 85 pound Thai and Vietcong chicks or are you going to stand up against this racist bullshit???

Fight or flight.....

Why is an article from 2018 (three years ago)bothering anybody right now?  Thousands of tourists and chicas have passed through since then...clearly, nothing too disruptive has hit the scene since publication. And yes, the article is completely biased!

You may have something there.   For one, Haitian women were the ones that always have been hassled the most by law enforcement.   My take is,  the DR govt knows that foreigners , especially men, play a major role in facilitating financial support for their women.    A favorable practice I dont believe they ever want to stop.

At the time that article was written they probably had in mind to eliminate as much of the Haitian working girls as possible.  And one reason is, to ensure that Dominican sex workers were the primary beneficiaries of all or most of the money coming to Sosua from foreigners.

Monies and resources directed towards Haitian women would mean less money and resources towards Dominican women.   And who is likely to have to foot the bill if Dominican women had no where else to turn to for financial support?   And thats one reason I believe they came up with the bullshit statement that 90% of sex workers were Haitian.

In recent weeks we saw articles about all of this money that was supposedly coming to Sosua for the betterment of the town.   Was there any mention of any of that money going to the sex workers,  so they wont have to ply their trade in Sosua?   I dont think so.   IMO, it's not prostitution that is the problem.   It's about who they dont want to be benefitting from it.

So exactly what is there for families to do in Sosua? Has a new movie theater opened? Is there a new water park? What about an amusement park? New Go cart track?
