What Bars are Open?

I am finally set to head back to the SU after 15 months.  I'm curious with the curfew moving later, what bars are.currently open?   Any hope of Classicos reopening?

I'm in town now currently living in Sosua there has been no news on classicos but kings is open until 2300 haven't been down to Anhvee to see id there letting people in again and coco cabana is open.

I was there the last two weeks of May. Most places were open. There was either karaoke or live bands every night some place on the strip. Some fantastic jam sessions. Mostly 80s and 90s music but also hip hop. Little in the way of Latin music, merenge and bachata almost non existent. Everything was closing at 9pm so it was perfect for us old farts that like to go to bed early.

I’m told plenty of action at Ahnvee but my expat friends don’t like the cover charge and high drink prices.

Yeah I'm not up all not...too old for that scene.   I'm hoping some of those spots will be open til at least 11.  Either way I'm sure I'll have plenty of fun before it gets late.  Thanks for the reply.

As of today the curfew is 11 pm every night with liquor sales allowed up to closing time. After 11 you can be on the street until 1am. My guess is that every bar that can open will be open until start of curfew nightly though I wouldn’t expect Clásicos to be among them.

The "disco" area in Coral Reef Casino was open.

The Menrgue Bar below Classico's is indeed open. Now that curfew & alcohol sales have been pushed back to 11PM  the possibility of more girls showing up there should increase.  The Bar has large windows, fans, food and is indoors and AC.  I would think that a smart business owner that is competing on Pedro would have some type of Happy Hour or drink specials to get the guys to come.

Now that curfew & alcohol sales have been pushed back to 11PM  the possibility of more girls showing up there should increase.  The Bar has large windows, fans, food and is indoors and AC.  I would think that a smart business owner that is competing on Pedro would have some type of Happy Hour or drink specials to get the guys to come.

Something is holding this place back, and i think it's a smart business owner. They still have signs on the barstools preventing you from sitting at the bar, their "hosts" are not very welcoming, I am not sure if you have to wear a mask as you cross the threshold for 2 seconds rumba style or just show you have one Ahnvee style, but they held me up last trip and i have not bothered to try and go in again. Without at least 3-4 girls sitting inside, they wont get any customers to speak of to jumpstart a crowd. Not to mention the soundtrack is the same it has been for 5 years. It's my favourite spot, but they are not even trying.

When I was there it was 4 dudes sitting at the bar and maybe 1 chica. They have the windows on now so I ordered a Cuba libre, proceeded to turn a chair round and posted up in the window and just f--ked with chicas thru the window as they posted up outside. After bout 45 minutes or so I found the one I wanted, finished my drink, turned the chaired back round and took her ass back to POUNDtown....

My same experience at Merange Bar. The afternoon post up solicit hoes through the windows plus a few hoes started to hang out there. The day bartender Celia is cool speaks English and know all the hoes

Expat buddy called. He told me Rancho Tipico has karaoke now on Thursday nights. It’s close to Ahnvee and their menu is reasonable.

Just got back from playjer Sosua.   Most beach bars are open  .good crowd  the usual hot spots full. Plenty of chicas on patrol.
