I am sure this has been discussed in the past, but why not have some fresh ideas. My question:
What else is there to do in Puerto Plata/Sosua? I have been a few times, but all my trips have been 3 or 4 nights, so a lot of my time has been spent hanging at the poor or beach, drinking, dinner, chicas, nightlife etc. Looking ahead and fantasizing about a return trip soon, when the time is right, I want to go for at least a week, so with that being said, what kind of other activities, tourist attractions, excursions do you guys recommend for me and a couple friends?

All the shops on the way to the beach advertise every imaginable excursion. Pick one you and friends can enjoy.

Good question. I know that Caberete offers water sports and wind surfing and the classes are cheap and have all the gear.

Sosua exists for only one reason and that's probably all attempts to diversify the entertanment have failed.

In addition, you can Google this or look at trip advisor or Youtube (Mr. T, etc.) but there are common things like 27 Charcos, Teleferico, Castle ... blah, blah, blah

One must do: Take a chica out to playa chiquita, and standing behind her with your arms around her waist...give her a kiss on the back of her neck. Make a wish and it should come true. I happen to me and now I do it!

Plenty sirs ,The old fort walking tour, the cable car, cigar factory POP, beach in caberete just the tip of the ice berg Plenty to do, Get a good repeat trusted of cource,, She can keep an eye on you and make sure you dont get gouged pay local prices instead of gringo prices,,if you can speak spanish and rent a car you got a giant playground ,carry on sirs !

These are great ideas, but they require leaving the safe confines of PC and being around actual Dominicans in the actual Dominican Republic. Some cats just aren't built for that.

A taxi will take you to and from all these enjoyable spots. Timid folk will never have to worry when they go with a local chica and it will be twice as fun. Everyone should get out of that comfort zone in the Su and explore some new spots...even if it is by taxi. Just go!

If you like the water go to one of the dive shops in town and take Intro to Scuba. It's an hour of so of going over some things that you NEED to know, then maybe an hour in shallow water learning how to use the equipment, then you'll head out in a boat and go to a shallow reef and really scuba dive. Usually about $100.00 all in. THough i must warn you that you may end becoming addicted to the sport and then it is an expensive hobby should you get serious about it. But a GREAT day thing to do!!! I have been diving for many years and have talked some guys visiting the SU into doing it. They had a blast.

Yeah...$40 or so for the real Dominican experience. I offer the same experience for $60 but I include a chica that holds your hand during my "dominican experience" tour*

She's available after the tour but that's not included with the tour.

Do all the tourist activities. Snorkel, ride atvs, take a spin class in Cabarete, have dinner and drinks on the Malecon in Puerto Plata.
